Haha..I really lol reading your reply
By the time I bought it, it's already 1 yr old model actually.I was looking for a laptop with these priority: 1. 17" screen 2. at least has good graphic card There were no graphic card (even desktop) that can play games at 1920x1080 and I feel comfortable with resolution 1680x1050 compare than 1920x1080. But I ended up picked X305 even I already decided to buy sager (really good laptop, even until now) I picked X305 due to its unusual body (usually I don't mind the design) actually. But never thought I can have a quad core (Q9000), 9800m gtx, a ssd and 4 speakers+a subwoofer. Even it is a toshiba ssd but at least I feel it faster than normal hdd, even the 7200rpm one. I'm really grateful with this laptop. Until now, I still observing qosmio family line, and the latest one 505 come with nvidia gtx460m. Just sharing my passion |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jan 24 2011, 04:31 PM) Haha, sorry for the awkward reply.... The X305 was the 1st Qosmio I've fallen in love with... just that I couldn't afford (no where near affording) one haha Looking at your siggy reminds me one of my friend who is obsessed with good quality sound-producing gadget. The design is spectacular, almost as impressive as an Alienware I would say hehehe Good to hear that it is serving you well The latest Qosmios are quite glossy, and the speakers don't look that scary anymore haha When 1st time he saw my laptop, and then listen to its speaker, then he told me, "I still can accept the weird looking design, but totally can't accept such quality sound in laptop" Even me still feels awkward until now when compare it to latest laptop. Only few laptops with true quality speaker can match my qosmio. The latest qosmio x505 imo is already awesome, but since I have a qosmio with 4 speakers, I can tell the 'differences' when you having 4 speakers than 2 speakers. I just need to do 3 upgrades and this laptop can be a real beast after that |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jan 24 2011, 04:46 PM) Haha.... I'm just an audiophile poisoned by some sifus here hahaha Even you say that, but it's worth buying a good external speaker, right? It's a good investment actually I have to agree that there's not a lot of laptop which can be compared to your Qosmio... perhaps only the MSI GX/GT series would be up to the task I wonder does the Qosmio X505 has subwoofers or not hehe, I pay alot of emphasis on speakers when buying laptops... external speakers, even though way better and cheaper, are just not very convenient to carry around Even if I buy sager, for sure I will buy awesome external speaker. X505 also have subwoofer.Hm, I never come across any high end msi yet, but really keen to see one. Do you frequently bring your laptop together with you or just let it at home? Btw, I don't have lot of money bought this laptop. I got discount and the price become usd1800. Plus, I already prepare the money for a long time. Bought it through ebay and ship it to msia. F60 speakers actually is too good for my 1st impression. It must be hard for you when comparing it to m500...
Do you know toshiba will release new netbook with harman/kardon speakers? |

I found your thread selling the F60. Haish...rugi la you let that F60 go...
Yes, it will be useless if a laptop as big as x505 don't have a subwoofer. I really eager to see a msi in front of my eyes. Yes, the price difference is too huge (nearly rm4k), including the specs If I come across a laptop, I will test its speakers 1st. Already become a habit now That's why, I've never thought the quality differ so much between laptops eventhough using harman/kardon. I have high expectation for new qosmio, Hopefully toshiba will 'refine' the qosmio in terms of specs and design. Really curious about the design and surely, it will be in red-flaming colour |

SB laptop imo is really an improvement esp for laptop part. Hopefully you can find one that suits you.
Yes, that's my previous intention - Bang & Olufsen. Believe me, it's phenomenal. I found one asus model with this speakers for a price of 3k something. I think vibration due to subwoofer is already old prob as new high end and good quality laptops nowadays have sturdy and good build quality. What is your budget for speaker? Planning to get one for my desktop |

Get a sb laptop and throw in a ssd and you will have a really fast laptop
I prefer asus, and i believe your already know the sb graphic performance, hopefully you can find one with highest lvl i5 or i7. Creative Gigaworks T20/T40 is one of ultimate speakers actually. Finding one now might be impossible But harman/kardon SSIII is also phenomenal, more than sufficient I can say, seriously. When do you plan to buy?Go for it |

This year new ssd will come out, and the price will go down.
About the laptop, I'm pretty sure new model will come out. Usually asus and acer will come 1st with new model. Just pray you can get the laptop that suits you (I prefer chiclet than acer-type keyboard). Asus new netbooks now come with chiclet, so I'm sure new model with 14 or 15"+optimus+chiclet will come out Hard to think any other model beside those 2 |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jan 25 2011, 10:56 PM) If strictly Toshiba, then perhaps you can consider: Yes, the trend now is they put in low-class graphic card and sell it around rm2k bcz most people's budget is fall into this category.EDIT: Try this, L645-1159U, i5-460M+ATI 5470@RM1899** (new model) Link: http://www.ncs.com.my/index.php?productID=2051 Satellite L645-1071U, i3-370M+Intel HD (FreeDOS)@RM1899 (Free 2nd year local limited warranty) Satellite L645-1112x, i3-370M+ATI 5470@RM2299 (Free 2GB RAM and 2nd year local limited warranty) The prices are based on the official Toshiba brochure, you'll probably be able to reduce the price after bargaining For your budget, I would say that its better to pick laptops from other brands. They offer better specs for a cheaper price Find a laptop with an ati5470+ core-i series and it's more than sufficient for a laptop worth rm2k Added on January 26, 2011, 1:28 pm QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jan 26 2011, 10:20 AM) Hi bro! Long time no see Same as my qosmio where my left hand will nearly cover the speaker.Yeah, you got a point there hehe! Later sweat all go inside the speaker Many gaming laptops also have speakers positioned on the palm rest as well.... wonder how they fared But imo, it's ok if the speaker quality is good. Btw, it's really appealing to have such speaker on a netbook. This post has been edited by aral3005: Jan 26 2011, 01:28 PM |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jan 26 2011, 01:42 PM) i5 at such a cheap price If Acer 522 cost about usd330, then i expect other brands should be around the same price.Yeah.... I wouldn't worry much about the position of the speakers since I usually start playing the songs while I'm doing something else haha... so the speakers won't be obstructed I wonder what's the pricing on the AMD powered NB500 series (if there is one) This post has been edited by aral3005: Jan 26 2011, 02:44 PM |

If from hp, you can consider dm3...
In terms of batt life, i think only r700 and asus that meet your requirement |

I've just download nvidia driver 270.61.
I realize my laptop is 'faster' and 'lighter' than using previous driver which is 267.76. Have anyone try the new 270 family driver?Just want to justify my observation. |
