QUOTE(tien8tien @ Dec 22 2009, 04:56 PM) Registered on 18th Dec, Installed just now. Location Penang. I asked the installer how many has he installed, he said I'm the first!!! Anyway, installation went very smooth. Used back the same cable from the New dish to the new decoder. Completed installation and activation in 40 minutes. Signal seems to be very strong at about 85% and Signal quality is at 100%! Interesting...... haha, i am only the third customer the installer installed astro b.yond on last friday and my mother told me the guy done within 1 hour...Did a quick check on the available channels, INCREDIBLE!!!! this is quite similar to the demos that we see being shown in TV shops. I have got it working via HDMI with my Panasonic Plasma TV (audio and video ok); and via the coax digital audio cable to my Denon receiver (ok). Have not really check if the audio is 5.1 or just plain stereo. QUOTE(max211 @ Dec 22 2009, 05:00 PM) Just got my b.yond this afternoon at around 1:30pm. Apply last tuesday, got a call from astro on wednesday, got a call from installer on friday ask me whether i will be at home on saturday which sadly I wasn't, sunday and monday as well. So they came today. which is good is it u need to do any setting while u use ur home theater system as audio input? as i know have a function on 'sound setting' to choose which audio system u use on lcd tv menu, but i don know is it for the situation like u..Anyway, when i set to dolby digital 5.1, no sound at all on HD channels, anybody know why? is it because of the audio cable? I thought with HDMI, it supposed to support both video & audio? ( i got pioneer home theather system, also connected with HDMI and it support audio + video ), so what's actually i've done wrong? If i'm not mistaken, F1 normally aired on starsport. so no HD la.. |

Btw, just to mention, the installer that came to install my byond, he doesn't even know there are dedicated channels for HD!! it shocked me when he show me the 811 channel and say it's HD! i picked up the remote and press 831, then he looked surprised and even marvel at the details of the HD display.. then he asked me what the other 4 channels and wrote it on a piece of paper.. sigh
