hi

may anyone who already have it enlighten me, how many HDMI output the new decoder have? and if its only one, does it still have other output ie: S-Video etc?

If im using second decoder now, in t he same house, do i need to pay RM20x2 extra per month to have both the decoder change?

Thanks in advance. really am excited as the five channel now currently in HD is almost like the only channel i tune in everyday, haha. Especially super excited on History HD~~~ biggrin.gif next bring on Discovery and Cinemax~!

i think record and playback is use for b.yond max or something, later to be introduce for sure.

anyway i do think sound bit low because its now in surround (5.1) rather then stereo (2.1) last time. so if use 2.1 speaker or just the TV speaker, so it become a bit low. dunno la, teka2 ony~ still waitin for mine to arrive~ biggrin.gif

ESPN also. Why not ESPN from the states.
*
why u want ESPN from state la? More of the time will just show on NBA, NFL and Baseball, what good in that? we asian watch the real football more, maybe 0.1% only of the population care about the american sport.

ESPN Asia is better because of the localization content and more accurate demographic coverage. Now if there is ESPN Malaysia@Asia Pacific, will be more awesome. Cover the damn local league please!

3. No output from HDMI, can only output from AV. I tried reset the set top box several time, but after the initial setting the hdmi output when blank. I see in system info the Hdmi status if OFF.
4. No sound whatsoever. Either 5.1 or stereo, both no sound output at all.

That guy has problems, if you don't want to help don't say like, just keep quite.

@En_A,

1. Last time when I subcribe astro, they take a whole week before they activated my card. Luckily, for BYond, it take only 5 hours.
2. Should call them again..again and again...smile.gif
3. Most probably you need to set HD resolution of the astro to 720p first before to 1080i. I read some where before one user had the same problem like you because it set to 1080i instead of 720p.
4. What is your connection? Using rca or hdmi?
*
hehe ooo o yeah?

well i did call them again and again. not to sound sexist but i do feel like a guy operator far more helping then the girls tongue.gif everytime a girl answer, my problem wil just prolong without end. a guy picks up, in 10 minutes everything settled ,huhu. maybe guys care about understanding the whole thing more then the girls. biggrin.gif i now... hang up if a girl answers tongue.gif haha.

anyway item no. 2 solve (within 5 minutes) this morning, item no. 4 too. Im using RCA, but its actually the cable itself spoil. after experimenting with other cable it sound oh so well. anyway can the HDMI transmit audio too?

The only problem left for me is item no. 3, no HDMI output at all. My installer also dont know whats the problem, since he say out of 10, 2 of his customer would experience the thing. He tells me about this during his installation and I give him the idea bout supported resolution maybe it is the cause, never knew i would kena also, haha. sweat.gif all i know i tried reset it to lower resolution but nothing still comes out, even resetting the box and then start with setting the lowest reso does not help. In System Info the HDMI status is OFF. It does, however, output picture (the card not activated screen) when it was on the first time.

anyway thanks for the assistance! wink.gif

my HDMI is working now! finally i can view the HD channel properly. biggrin.gif

An Astro personal called me.. First.. A girl.. She want to send technician to my home... Haih.. Then i complain again ,got another call from Astro personal (guess, a guy tongue.gif ) says that HDMI port for my decoder is not activated yet, thats why the status is off. he say he will activate instantly, then after 5 minutes,i got my lcd outputting thru HDMI n the status in system info is now HDMI: On.

I think they will use this to control HD subscription by using the same set top box in the future for costing purposes. Anyway im glad finally i have a clear cut answer n solve all my problems! Hope this can help others too smile.gif

hi, did not check any back thread lately, may I know is the HBO HD EPG something wrong? cause they mention it always 1 hr delay from HBO but the EPG / Info was same as HBO
Is it because Astro trying to "re-encode" HBO HD?
*
Yup astro marketing also told me bout the delay of 1 hour for HBO HB. I think u need to complain to HBO bout that, not astro.

For now at least HBO HD does show same program as the regular HBO. I hate supersort HD as it shows the second supersport channel instead of the first one,too much american games! Who want to watch that! Furthermore not even live, ony recording, isk.

History HD n Nat Geo HD too,now the programs does not match at all the regular channel. The program is mostly outdated, isk. I thot before it be like HBO,same thing both channel. Guess im wrong.
