My friend (visitor) just got this note when she entered. Apparently now all visitors are only allowed to park their cars inside not more than 12 hours failing which they shall clamp the car. I personally think this is a stupid ruling.
I understand the intention is not to allow visitors to abuse the facility by parking their cars for days/weeks/years. But clamping cars?? Just allow visitors to pay nominal parking fee wouldn't be so bad rather than clamping their cars. What do u think of this ruling? |

What do u think of this ruling? u stay at ur own unit or renting? as a owner, u can make a complaint to a chairman of JMB or ask your landlord to make a complaint. They must respond to our voice (residents). |

If the JMB or the mgmt badly needs money, why don't charge visitors a nominal parking fee after 12 hours of park rather than clamping the car. They (visitors) would need to abide by the same ruling with no questions ask ie park at designated spots, pay parking fee, etc. As it is, cars are not allowed to park outside anymore.
Why make it so inconvenient to both the car owner and management/security guard to open/close clamp. That said, they can better optimise the resources (guards) to do other things if need be. I think JMB should address this asap before it gets worse. |

QUOTE(czlee88 @ Jul 4 2013, 09:09 AM) when do you manage to start reno? Have taken this discussion via PM. Thanks!i having one contractor introduced by agent, not sure if u wanto have a try QUOTE(nadzimruddin @ Jul 5 2013, 09:52 AM) hi Xforged, I can understand the intention for the visitor car park bays to not be abused due to overstaying guests or desperate tenants, especially following the clamping of illegally parked vehicles in front of the guard house road.u stay at ur own unit or renting? as a owner, u can make a complaint to a chairman of JMB or ask your landlord to make a complaint. They must respond to our voice (residents). But for the statement of the guards not calling the owner up in this poorly executed memo, is purely disrespectful. Sounds to me that they're telling the owners upfront that no flexibility will be given. 12 hours is too short, imagine family member visiting at 8am and having to leave just after dinner. Since no extensions would be considered, would the guards permit reentry should the visitor just exit and return? That's troublesome and ultimately makes them look like fools. I'll share this with the management when I can, hope other owners can give their feedback too. |

More than 12 hour time allocation (24 hours?) would be preferred, after which a parking fee could be charged at a rate which is fair. 2) To get the visitors to stipulate or write down how many hours/days are they intending to park/stay (max number of days could be mutually agreed). This should be firm as in should they overstay, there are consequences to it. There's abundance of parking space at the 8th floor anyway for visitors to park. My 2 cents. |

Got it last night. You have to start pre-empting your visitor should they stay over 12 hours. Not to be caught by surprise to see the bloody clamp on the car.

i think if 24hrs, any units with many cars can park at visitor bays, as they like. eg back to work (6pm) then go to work (7am) abt 13 hrs, u can repeat as much as u like..ohh, in between, u go out dinner..u can stretch more hours..one person doing..then is ok...if 100 people doing it, u think about it.
the visitor bays maybe all taken up..when other visitors come in no car parks how? for those visitors that wanna stay 1 or 2 days or maybe more days..u can write to mgmt to seek longer term parking.. i did it when i have visitor. Clamping is to deter people not following the rules..is like i said park 12hrs u park 18hrs..nothing happened..so why bother the ruling... if u wish to park more than 12 hrs...go park further down the road..u can park how many days also can... i think the mgmt should not charging fee just to ensure there are enuf visitor carparks. out of point abit..i personally feel that those visitors charging in at opening of the door at respective block is funny. Owner shld come down to bring them up to their unit. Maybe shld have one cardon off area for visitor to wait for owner to bring them up.... |

Hhhmmm this 12 hours visitation hours is new to me. I think it's fine as long as when the rise needed to have more than 12 hours...application can be submitted to management for approval.
I think there is a lot of tenants that are parking at visitors carparks since the management started clamping Jln Besi Kawi hence the new ruling.... |

As what I understood, you just need to inform security guard about the parking bay and the car plate number if your visitor want to extend after 12 hrs.
