Folks,

Anyone here have something to say about Nitecore EZCR2w? Read some good review about it but not really sure about this Nitecore brand...

Going to get this light later from a shop, the window display on the packing is very attractive... hope that I won't regret it.

Strinq, it looks like the newer batch of MC10 is using Cree XPE LED. Or is it a mix? LOL what's going on wit Fenix, how can they sell a different LED in the same product? Can you remember if your LED is XPE or Osram? I may think the XPE has higher output.
*
Mine is the Osram. Will the XPe be brighter? Not sure about the specs but yeah have read about them using different LEDs on the MC10. And it seems that some cannot balance well but mine is perfectly fine.
Bad QC i guess.

Nitecores are fine. There are quality issues here and there but that is the same as all chinese brands (and most american too! haha!)

There is nothing wrong with the EZCR2W except 2 things
CR2 batteries - expensive and don't last as long as CR123
expensive - The EZ series is priced pretty high. But then again there is no other light i can think of that is the same UI for cheaper. (Ra Twisty and Lummi Raw comes to mind, lol)

Thank you, polkiuj.

I think I'll skip this one. You did wake me up on the battery part. Not sure why I keep thinking that CR2 is CR123... something evil blinding me from that... blush.gif (Could be the look and packing). blush.gif

Yea man. HK got lots of lights!

EZ123 is too long??

Man I tot that was a really short light. Lol.

47's Quark MiNi 123 is very short. =D These are very thin so...
You can also try iTP. Very cheap. =P Beware of PWM issues though.
Maybe a Quark 123 but I think that's longer than a EZ123...

What else? Hmm...

I love my Lummi Raw NS but run-time is non-existant.

The PWM on iTP is still ok. But if one is particular about it, Quark Mini 123 is a good choice biggrin.gif Both are short enough already I feel, haha.

Hello Jefferson and welcome to the Bright Side!!! biggrin.gif Which light are you referring to btw? Quark Mini, iTP?, Photon Fanatic?

Haha, yeap, tesco selling cheap but I'm concern abt their performance. CR2 lights are cool. But I would personally go for AA or 123 config. CR123 primaries has been more available in certain shops now more than before. Even the Li-IONs for these sizes (14500, 16340, 17670) are more popular and within reach, our dealers have them. And 18650 lights are normally CR123 compatible. thumbup.gif

maybe a week or 2 before CNY? Need to get some extra IMR cells first. biggrin.gif
hope to see hoongern's setup by then.  thumbup.gif

Oh NO! Unfortunately, my setup may not be ready :'(

I just experienced a short circuit, and my IMR18500 cells died, along with my twisty tailcap and D26 T1.5 module springs sad.gif

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=257976

Lesson: Do NOT underestimate how powerful IMR cells can be - exercise caution! And remove your batteries before changing P60 drop-ins, and check that the spring is straight before putting them back in!
