the camera settings are locked...  nod.gif
this might be due to image format conversion and dithering with gif.
Let's try another, this time in JPEG.

not just the hot spot, look at the surrounding. The IMR-9L in D36 head is not throwy, it's very floody.

let's make a date to test it outdoor, polkiuj, bring your P91 along ya.  pseudoblue, are you in? anyone with any incan setup would like to do some comparison? brows.gif

[EDIT]: i think i will use 2 x IMR 18650 when we meet as the voltage sag is lesser in this setup.

[EDIT 2]: i just refresh the whole page and notice the converted gif looks really really ugly...  doh.gif  my bad...  sweat.gif

how about shooting the room lit with the light on ceiling bounce with topped up batts. That would be great comparison. Put the original or resized JPGs then can easily compare with histograms (not 4in1 pics =D)

The M6 are great, well made, looks and feels quality, but I think the M@gs are more interesting especially when you can twist the head.  rclxm9.gif

jwyj have some nice collections too. He got a lot of pills. Each light got it's own batteries. Well prepared.

Thanks, I did look at this but I think he don't make it anymore. But the good news is I just had an almost 3 hours "gathering" with LightJunk. Just the 2 of us,  nod.gif  but enjoyed talking to each other. Most importantly, he gave me his spare MA02 bulb.  rclxms.gif
We did take a few photos of our lights. Will post photos later.

I got a M2 Xeno head and a 6P extension instead. Nice guy.

Looks like a very bright and floody setup. Would be awesome if it can throw more. There's a 4,300 lumen single-LED light purportedly in the works by ArcMania. Now if it is from this guy it's gotta be cutting edge and uber custom! whistling.gif

this project is very easy to do the only potential issue is - is there anybody would willing to fork out USD180 just for the 3 SST-90 emitters sweat.gif
this project is a direct drive without any driver involved, but as time goes by i'm not sure if the mag plastic switch can handle the current draw.

I already have my IMR-9, plus D26/TL-3 (Pretty good throw!), but am STILL waiting for the D26 WA1111 [on 2xIMR18500] / WA1185 [on 3x IMR16340] to arrive (there was a mix up back in December and Fivemega only just mailed it off a couple days ago - hopefully will arrive within 2 weeks) - but I have been really wanting to see the P91 in action.

Plus I think the IMR-9 not being as bright as the P91 is probably when it's on 16340s. The IMR-9 performs much better on higher capacity IMRs - it was designed for 18650 usage, according to LumensFactory. Whereas, I think the P91 is at higher risk flashing on 18650s?

The output is superb! WOW!

Observation from the current draw and build, the light will heat up pretty quickly, heat sink is too small and thin. It's only a light to give the WOW effect and it is working! Not suitable for runtime tho.
