QUOTE(Proclaimer @ Dec 28 2009, 04:04 PM) malkoff seems great, finding for a cheaper alternative though.. nite ize is kinda cheap but doesnt seem to be that bright.. hmm.. money money.. haha.. A piece of advise from me as I just received a 2-3D drop-in from Malkoff last week and the LED give out a slight greenish tint. The greenish tint is noticeable when you point it up to the white ceiling, but I can live with that. Besides the greenish tint, the drop-in is just wonderful, will try to take some photos of it later when got time. |

QUOTE(polkiuj @ Dec 28 2009, 04:33 PM) Yes, Malkoff is indeed great, just look at those fabulous M60 drop-ins QUOTE(Proclaimer @ Dec 28 2009, 04:42 PM) Oh great.. would love some beamshot.. Haha, seems the malkoff is great indeed. But i think the disadvantage is i dont have D rechargeble batteries and charger. I also do not have the D rechargeable battery, I bought a 6AA-2D adapter from here to be used for Sanyo Eneloop batteries.Buying them again would be a waste of money just for the maglite. The 2-3D drop-in can accept the max of 5.5V, so I use 4 pieces of Sanyo Eneloops and 2 dummy AA. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?p=2849142 And I just bought a second adapter here http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=244640 This post has been edited by justin78: Dec 28 2009, 05:03 PM |

Some photos about the Malkoff 2-3D Drop-in .
The Malkoff 2-3D Drop-in is inserted into the 2D red color Maglite, couple together with the Executive Red Bezel also from Malkoff. If you look closely at the beam shot in the photo, you will see that it is a bit greenish and maybe that is not too clear in the small picture. The Pewter color 1D Maglite was bought here "CPF forum" and is equipped with a warm color LED with 4 modes. The reasons I bought those Mags? Because I have too many smaller flashlights and decided to play those with a larger type such as the Maglites. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by justin78: Dec 29 2009, 09:12 PM |

QUOTE(pseudoblue @ Jan 6 2010, 01:21 AM) Aighht Ladies! We are 4 days away till our major event! Here's the full info. Please read the itinerary and meeting place will be directly at KD Trail. Just a small piece of advice to those who will be going to the gathering.GATHERING UPDATE: (Updated 6-Jan-10) CONFIRMED Date for our KD Trail Adventure: 9th January 2010, Saturday - 8.30PM Why I chose this date? I'm not entirely sure but it seems like a proper date and hopefully all of us can make it Near the new year's weekend, some may not be around and probably be on holiday. And dates after that may seem a little busy as school's peak period starting up and it's also nearing CNY. Let's discuss and confirm your attendance! See the red circle in the first map. At the KD Trail, the parking lot is actually a very wide road (Similar like our 23Oct Gathering outdoor location), and there's a school opposite. Buses also parked there and we can park at the side without any issues. There are also people who park around there and go fishing 9.30pm - 11.30pm The trail starts at one point (near the roundabout as you can see in the map) and ends at another point down, which exits to the road. We can then walk back to our cars from there. Total walk time is 45-60mins. We can chill and test more beamshots at a 'pondok' (nearby our cars). But first, from our starting point, we can all walk into a clearing, which we can test out more beamshots and throws, checkout other lights. It's a suitable place for these specific purposes  Once we're done, we'll head into the trail. ***Take note to limit the amount of lights you can carry. Manage them systematically and tuck them nicely in a bag and carry along. Make sure you are comfortable. ***After we exit from the trail and walk back to our vehicles, note that there are spider nests on the tree branches, just be careful not to run your face into them. ***Please keep the forest CLEAN from rubbish. Depending on time, we can decide to go MANO mamak for a drink Suggested things to bring: - As suggested by Rookiedaddy, humidity level high, wear something comfortable - Water bottle - Flashlights + spare batteries - Chocolates? - Small bag to carry stuff and litter plastic bags if necessary - Emergency poncho, in case it rains. - Advise to wear shoes to protect your feet from ants and insects (just in case) Also, if you do bring additional clothes to change and may want to leave it in the car, please put it in the car's trunk. Make sure vehicles are locked and your keys and belongings are kept secured on you. Keep a lookout for each other when we're in there. Stay safe, stay bright *My Contact No: 016 3938909 - Allan You may bring along some salt just in case being bitten by the blood sucking leeches a.k.a. lintah. My friends and I went to FRIM in Kepong last 2 week and some of them was being bitten by leeches. I do not know whether this canopy walk got any leeches, but salt is just very cheap, or just take some salt from the kitchen |

QUOTE(old newspaper @ Mar 31 2010, 11:13 AM) true.....but we can simply choose which mode we wanted straight away, without having the need to cycle those mode like most of the other flashlight.... IF I carry this flashlight into the jungle walking around, will the modes keep changing? As you know the hand will not be steady while walking...Or we just put it into the nitelite mode for 1 second and it will be permanently in that particular mode without change until you turn it off? ______ I think I got it, to be permanently in a mode without changing, we just need to choose the normal mode and press it and select the brightness then release, very simple....
