Oh NO! Unfortunately, my setup may not be ready :'(
I just experienced a short circuit, and my IMR18500 cells died, along with my twisty tailcap and D26 T1.5 module springs sad.gif
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=257976
Lesson: Do NOT underestimate how powerful IMR cells can be - exercise caution! And remove your batteries before changing P60 drop-ins, and check that the spring is straight before putting them back in!
my-oh-my... glad that you are OK. join us for the gathering, we can do some experiments with the different modules. ACE h/w is selling some springs pack in different sizes and plating that you may wanna to take a look. I will also bring along a tube of OX-Gard for the gathering.

What shall you call this gathering? INCAN REVELRY 2010! (LEDs are welcome) tongue.gif

Btw, to Old Newspaper, thanks for the batteryjunction group buy! The Olight diffusers works like a champ! Luv it. It fits on Quark AA and RRT-0 perfectly. The bigger diffuser for TA21 have to mod abit. It also fits the TK lights perfectly.

I don't think I'd let a kid near even LiFePO4s, as shown by jwyj above they can also short! I think the only flashlights I'd lend to kids would be alkalines, or *maybe* ni-mhs (even ni-mhs are capable of very high currents!). No lithiums!

I may try to trim the spring in the future. The FM module spring is pretty long. We'll see =) He's going to send me a spare spring.

And it must have been REALLY RED HOT, seeing how it actually melted.. I'm not sure what the spring is made out, but steel melts at > 1000 degrees celcius! Now that's scary..
*
Oh yeah, just make sure kids don't use any light with spring , use those with reverse protection like Quark, fenix, Jetbeams, definitely no incanse haha laugh.gif

The nice thing is that I can use a blue 3.7V battery for these lights. Abit loose inside the tube, the hot spot is the same as when I'm using 2 x 3.0V CR123 batteries.

i prefer this newer design than the older one....this light can serve as the stress relief tool too [ squeezable body ] tongue.gif and safe for my son to play too laugh.gif

Note : i'm only shipping in 5 units only! [ Icon Modus 1 - the AA version ]. 1 unit is for myself and the rest i gonna give it to my families as a gift. if there's any taker here, i can let you have it. pricing will be finalize once i have the shipping quote, this time using normal USPS mail, so cheaper. my estimation pricing for each is around RM100 -120 shipped.

reserved 1 unit for strinq biggrin.gif

oh, just found out that you can buy it from HERE ! directly from Hong Kong with free shipping worldwide. but buying it from US is cheaper but need to go thru alot of hassle....choice is yours! tongue.gif
