This made me an Argentinian fan. If Spain didn't go through, i want Argentina to win this WC.

Blatter is not stupid, he's smart. Without technology FIFA can make more money. God knows what corruption happens behind the scene. Remember 2002?

the mexican player are too emotional, this could just make then lost concentration and give away more goal to argentina.
Added on June 28, 2010, 4:29 amin the last 20 minutes, for the first time there is no sense of immediate danger to the opposition goal when messi touch the ball, argentina just stop playing and saving energy for the german. This post has been edited by robertngo: Jun 28 2010, 04:29 AM |

yea..can see messi is just chilling in the end. hahhaha
argentina got abit lucky imo, wit that blatant offside first goal given. mexico looked the more dangerous side before that goal, hitting the post and a few good chances. but after that first goal argentina just upped their game and mexico too, lost a bit of hope and concentration. |

QUOTE FIFA reiterate opposition to technology FIFA has rejected calls for the introduction of technology despite two controversial incidents during Sunday's second round matches which led to almost universal calls for world football's governing body to review the situation. In England's match with Germany a goal which clearly crossed the line was not given, while in the Argentina-Mexico game a goal was allowed despite replays being shown inside the stadium as the hapless officials conferred to discuss the situation which showed the scorer was obviously offside. But at a press conference in Johannesburg, FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke said that the use of video technology was "definitely not on the table" claiming a "zero-fault" system was not possible. "We can talk about refereeing decisions which, when you looked at them after the game, you could say were perhaps not good decisions," Valcke said. "We didn't say you could have a zero-fault system in the World Cup. Additional assistants [referees] could happen in 2014 to make sure these kind of things are not happening in refereeing. "It doesn't mean the use of video, that is definitely not on the table today, but one thing we are discussing is two additional assistants to support referees to make decision-making easier and to have more eyes helping him to make such decisions. We knew this is where criticism would come." FIFA ruled out the use of technology at a meeting in March, voting 6-2 against. Valke and FIFA's under-fire president Sepp Blatter both came out in favour of retaining the current system. Blatter, who is one of the most vociferous opponents of the introduction of technology, was in the Free State Stadium to witness Frank Lampard's not-given goal and had to squirm in his VIP box as replays showed the incident time and time again and the crowd vented its fury. "No matter which technology is applied, at the end of the day a decision will have to be taken by a human being," Blatter said in March. "This being the case, why remove the responsibility from the referee to give it to someone else? It is often the case that, even after a slow-motion replay, ten different experts will have ten different opinions on what the decision should have been. Fans love to debate any given incident in a game. It is part of the human nature of our sport." its time the other football federations stand up to this idiot and over throw him.fifa is being redundant more and more these days. brazil really show their class today, chile have a lot of energy and go full out on attack but lack the cutting need to overrun that brilliant defense and the counter attack just rip then apart.

Brazil have looked by far the most complete team in the tournament. Very impressive performance today.

Brazil were both impressive and consistent and how Dunga managed to make his players adapt to such disciplinary level is beyond me.
Thanks to both Chile (Chile vs Spain) and Brazil (for all their matches in this WC)for making this competition interesting as before. Oh ya, Germany deserves the same credit as well. Not to mention the joy to see all the boring teams without any proper plan and formation kicked out before quaterfinals except for South Korea. I really thought they can make it to Quarters. But hey, it would be a crime if Uruguay didn't make it to quarter with that Suarez' 2nd goal. Phenomenal~ |
