my fren wanted to get an underwater digicam..
should get sony tx-5 or panasonic ft2 ?

he wans to use it when going to beach, can take some photo/video underwater, but in most of the case is still taking photo/video on dry land.

the max also can go is about 3 meters nia. anything more than that needs casing.

Managed to try the FT2. 10m underwater is impressive.. but the LCD and image quality is mediocre.

TX-5 with the slider and touchpanel? hmmm.. not really convinced if used in rugged environment..

Sand might get stuck in the slider.. and touchscreen sensitivity degrades when used underwater (not sure if this is true)...

Max 3 meter, if dive more than 3 meter, what will happen to the camera? Only not function or will spoil it?

for normal water..i dun think so..for sea water..probably

water will start to seep in your camera due to higher pressure as you go deeper.......

Cheaper than i thought.. so this is the best rugged compact out there? If it is then i gotta go Sony centre to test it out.. Hopefully they can let me test it out by immersing the camera into a small fish tank.

The last time i saw this was done on the Casio EX-G1.. unfortunately..the pics did not turn out as good as expected.

does anyone know the price for Canon S95? I just bought an LX-5, but some said that S95 is better and for a lower price at that, thanks if u can share some information

Canon S95 is around Rm1300+/- Cant say which 1 is good, some say LX-5, some say S95. But what i know is, both about the same level, 1 of the reason ppl go for S95 is due to small size, just like pocket camera.

Can recommend me a DSLR Canon for a budget of 3k?

550D... or 500D kit with 50mmf/1.8
