May I recommend the Panasonic Lumix LX3?
It's very good for panaromic photos as it's got a wide angle of 24mm. brows.gif
It's also got HD Video Recording (at 720p if not mistaken). I have seen the quality of it which is quite good but can never be compared with a HD Camcorder. tongue.gif

Yes i do know that the LX3 is a very good camera but the price is abit too steep.May i know how much is the cheapest LX3 around? If not mistaken, the retail price is about RM1700 hmm.gif

Just curious...What't this Nikon Coolpix L100?My sis has it and it's only around RM900-1K.....I definitely doubt it's a DSLR..Is this a semi pro camera?I think it's just a normal PnS with superzoom,no?

Tried it but didn't give me any good impression of it.Practically very noisy and can't change the ISO doh.gif

How will this fare against my future Lumix LX3? brows.gif I need to know because my family is going for a holiday and need to determine which will be taking family photos icon_idea.gif

im also have the same budget and camera as urs in my mind..but i still considering the lx3 in the list..but in terms of size its a big bulky specially the lens. i was looking for P&S for convenience in travelling also. anyone can recommend? currently S90 in my mind..but seems like panasonic lumix series also give a lot of nice review.

A wide angled lens(24mm) and HD video recording certainly gives it an edge over the S90 nod.gif Definitely gonna get this baby soon wub.gif

My poisonous collegues are all LX3 kaki's and are slowly migrating to S90.

There's also rumours in Panasonic internally that there's a replacement model coming out soon.

Serious?I head something like LX5 tongue.gif

Might delay my purchase sad.gif

Dunno how much is that but i bet it can't beat its older brother, the S90.Else, there's the legendary LX3 both in the price region of RM1.5k smile.gif

Budget budget budget..That's what you should post first when asking for any type of recommendation,be it mobile phones, laptops, cameras,pc etc.So do state your budget smile.gif

Any specific models in mind? : 5D Mark II with 580EXii or D3S.

She's a newbie with gazillions of money to burn. She wanna go for the best dslr available with the humongous budget.

Noise control will be the most important feature, i tink. Does the 5D mark II ISO256000 pawn nikon kaw kaw? (no to start brandwar. just askin! laugh.gif)

The D3S seems to handle very high ISO very comfortably

p/s: is the 5D Mark 2 better than the 1D Mark 4?

FZ35 is a superzoom...those big big lenses u see is only for "display" as it's only used for very long optical zooms.Otherwise, Image quality is the same as a compact camera.

Again said, LX3 beats all in the 1.5k region except DSLRs lar tongue.gif LX3's reputation speaks for itself flex.gif
