autofocus motor ? u mean image stabilization (optical super steady shot) is it ?

some dslr is built in OSS in camera, some are built in lens, buy those built in camera better, so that u can hv better range of lens thumbup.gif

if sony 2k+-, i suggest u A33 (A55 if u need 10fps and higher mpixel) biggrin.gif

and yes, a33 is built in super steady shot INSIDE the camera wub.gif

he meant autofocus motor on d body or lens la sweat.gif
This apply to Nikon oni as Sony have their AF motor in body, Canon on lenses

n dun say camera built-in stabilization is better, dun try mislead ppl
as both body stabilization n lens stabilization have their pros n cons
most ppl will shoot u for ur statement sweat.gif

Yes, body stabilization is convenient, since you don't need to care about whether the lens got stabilization or not, BUT it's not as good/efficient as stabilization on lenses...

Many sony lenses don't have stabilization because their body already have. While canon and nikon always depend on lens for stalibilization (also called IS or VR).

DSLR is very subjective, you need to use and play it, if not feeling good in your hand and not user friendly for u, no point getting that model even though damn good.

most probably you are talking about nikon's screw drive. for current nikon's line up, any model lower than d90 do not have screw drive focus mechanism built into the body.

thus, af-d lenses wont autofocus on them.

google more, learn more hehehe

that sentence in bold is quite misleading sweat.gif
n if wanna say d right term, u shud b saying those with camera built-in stabilization can save cost on lenses
cos for Nikon n Canon, lenses of the same range may have both stabilizer or non-stabilizer, n those with stabilizer r more costly

oh yeah as for the built in motor, here's a simple analysis...

Sony: all got motor
Nikon: D80/D90 and above (d7000 included) have motor, can focus with all old AF-D lenses and all new AF-S lenses
Canon: IF NOT MISTAKEN, 50D above only got motor, but now all canon lenses have motor (EF and EF-S). Canon DSLR cannot use those old lenses and no one uses already (except film).

as i'm quite a noob, i just quote this statement, bcoz the others I don't really understand, huhu. rclxub.gif

anyway, seems like sony is the preferable one if I want to get SLR with AF built in motor rite? as D90 price is over my budget, So which model you think is good for beginner like me? I already made a research, it seems like the good one is A230, A290/a390, A330/A380. And looks like Sony SLR have a lot of advantage for my purpose except for the pricey lenses rite?

N i dont really care much whether it is 2nd hand or new one. If I can get better quality on second hand which under my budget, I rather choose that than new one. And I'm thinking of investing for the 50mm plus speedlight also, so my budget is quite tight here.

Btw, for A33, it looks good, but I heard it's not really a DSLR bcoz it uses NEX tech and Other cons I heard is that it has Electronic View Finder so it will be hard to use it in very dark place. Is that true?
