QUOTE(propnoob @ Aug 30 2017, 03:08 PM) Hi all... Does anyone knows why this happens? The paint is peeling off. Indoor or outdoor? Could be caused by the old paint layer, or lousy quality paint, or wrong paint type used (example indoor paint used outdoors), or improper prep work prior to painting. There are many potential reasons, maybe can share more information? Hard to say without knowing more details.

The paint-man had the wall skimmed first and then they paint the primer (Jotun Easyclean). After that they paint it over using Jotun Majestic True Beauty twice. The problem seems to only appear in this guest room. Could the skimming be the culprit? Because after skimming they just wait for a few hours before painting the wall rather than a few days. I think we can exclude the lousy quality and wrong paint type used. Hope this helps.

Don't think skimming is the culprit if it was done for the rest of the house but only this area showing this. Is the other side of this wall the outdoors? A potential cause to keep in mind is if there are hairline cracks on the outside, water could have seeped in and caused the interior paint to peel over time. Would recommend to look into that.

Yup, the other side is the outdoor. I'll check that one out later. Thanks all.

I'm doing wall hacking for wiring (no plaster ceiling), should I just patch and paint the spot that hacked or the whole wall? Most of my wall plan to use original paint white color.

Hi, I am planning to repaint part of my house. I assume these are the steps?
1. Clean the wall with dry cloth 2. Paint with white primer (the old paint is dark color, and now I want light color on it) 3. Paint coat 1 with the color I want 4. Paint second coat
I used to paint my family house in hometown for a few times before, but after not doing it for years, I am getting rusty about the steps already.
I am thinking to get Vinilex 5200 as primer. I posted question to Nippon, as my walls are constantly dusty and chalky and got the recommendation to use Vinilex 5100 for dusty wall. Any one had used this before?
I don't know why but only my master bedroom and living rooms have dusty walls. At first we thought it's because new house. But 5 years had passed and I am still wiping the wall every now and then, but they are still the same. We only concluded it's because we were using matt series for these places, while the other no-issue bedrooms,we used semi gloss? What do you think?
I am planning to use gloss paint for this time around.
