Years ago, when I buy ICI paint, its off the shelf or need to order mostly.

Now, all I need to do is to pick the color (even i can give them the Nippon color code), they can mix instantly for me. So fast and canggih.

So all of you guys did the same ?
*
Try not to use so much custom colour paint. The mix is always not consistent, which give you problem during maintenance.

how big is the area normally 5 liters of paint can cover? this is considering we need to apply 2 layers for each wall.

i am considering on Kansai paint for the whole house of approx 850sqft including ceiling. need to estimate how many paint can i need for my house.
*
Usually the specification says 1 liter can cover 10m2 per layer. But i suggest you calculate as 7m2 per layer.

Hi ppl,

My ID told me my existing house does not need sealers or undercoat for the interior walls coz the existing paint is good enough. Is that true?
*
Yes, you can skip sealer or undercoat if the existing paint is still in good condition.

i plan to paint it myself... so if they did not skim coat the hacking part since not hiring painter, any ways i can smoothen the sealed areas before applying undercoat? i dont think im able to skim coat myself nicely...
*
Patch back the chases with cement and sand. Then make good the surface with putty.
Then follow by under 1 layer under coat and 3 layer finishing paint.
After the putty dry, paint 1 layer undercoat, wait it dry, then paint 1 layer finishing coat, wait it dry again. Then paint the whole wall with 2 finishing coat.

Need some advice here, how many of paints are generally needed for wall and ceiling? What type of paint do we need?
*
Minimum 2 finishes coats. Then you see the result ok or not, if not ok paint another coats.

New wall need to add 1 layer of undercoat.

Wondering how many litre paint required to paint 1000sqft condo interior wall? Will paint same as existing colour (white)
*
For repainting on top of existing paint. The coverage is about 7-8m2 per layer per litre for emulsion paint.

hi guys, would like some advise on the paint brand to choose for. my current house is using nippon paint but it was not so good because the colour just fade a way after about 2 years i painted it. after that again i paint it and now it's about 3 years now and it fade again. Both of the previous painting we ask the painter to paint without mixing with other solution.

Now my new house i really don't know what brand of paint should i use now. any recommendation?
*
Paint faded might not be due to paint defect, it might due to other reasons, such as moisture problem.

Is there anyway to avoid that? it's really not nice because you will feel anoying when look at it fade like that.
*
1st you need to determine the root cause of the fading problem.
Then only find out the best possible solution.

Why you need to completely remove the oil paint on a door?

Just scrap down the lossen parts and light sand paper to the whole door. Then it is good enough for you to repaint with new oil paint.

Does anyone know how to strip off old paint from the existing house interior? I plan to apply sealer before putting on new coat of paint. I have no idea how to strip off the old paint? Do we use sand paper?
*
Just use scrapper to scrap off the loose paint. It is not required to strip off the entire old paint to apply sealer.

Try use the paint stripper. It come in a can. Apply with brush, wait for few minute and scrap it out.

But I not sure the paint stripper can be use on the emulsion paint. Have to try it out. Cause mostly paint stripper selling here is for oil paint.

Last time I still can buy the paint stripper for emulsion paint. Very fast to strip out the paint completely. But I don't no where to buy now.
*
The question is, is it necessary to remove the "good condition" old paint in order to repaint an existing wall?
Old paint will not create a visible uneven surface. Cause the thickness of paint film is in micron. If got uneven surface probably is due to skimcoat or cement plaster peel off already.

No need if the existing paint adhere strong to the base.

Exactly, that is why no need to headache and spend time on how to remove the "good" existing paint.
The meaning of good, means a good substrate.
