Anyone had used nippon spotless before? Previously I bought 3 cans and paint a room. It didn't turn out very well. Could be bcos of our bad skill and not very good roller. Now goinv to hire pro to paint but wonder if they can paint nippon spotless nicely. So anyone use spotless and it turned out great?

Hi, I am planning to repaint part of my house. I assume these are the steps?
1. Clean the wall with dry cloth 2. Paint with white primer (the old paint is dark color, and now I want light color on it) 3. Paint coat 1 with the color I want 4. Paint second coat
I used to paint my family house in hometown for a few times before, but after not doing it for years, I am getting rusty about the steps already.
I am thinking to get Vinilex 5200 as primer. I posted question to Nippon, as my walls are constantly dusty and chalky and got the recommendation to use Vinilex 5100 for dusty wall. Any one had used this before?
I don't know why but only my master bedroom and living rooms have dusty walls. At first we thought it's because new house. But 5 years had passed and I am still wiping the wall every now and then, but they are still the same. We only concluded it's because we were using matt series for these places, while the other no-issue bedrooms,we used semi gloss? What do you think?
I am planning to use gloss paint for this time around.

QUOTE(SZEHUE @ Apr 22 2018, 04:58 PM) hi all, I got quoted for dulux pentalite paint by my reno contractor, but they had used maxilite plus instead. Is the quality and price different a lot for the two variants? Very big difference in price and quality! Pentalite is decent/quite good paint. Maxilite, people use it for house or parts that just want something cheap (like store room?), don't care about quality.

QUOTE(zzzhhhzzz @ May 20 2018, 10:35 AM) Hi guys.. any idea qhere i can buy dulux paint at a good price around klang valley ? Sometimes you will see the hardware shop showing Nippon or Jotun banner but just go inside and ask if they have Dulux. Maybe Dulux Malaysia didn't sponsor them signboards . Setia Alam got 2 shops selling. Price varies by color and series so very hard to say they are charging cheaper or not. Satin Glo (satin finish) is significantly more expensive than Pentalite and Easycare (both matte). I remember I bought mine Easycare and Pentalite (Jan18) 5 litre around RM90-100, 15litre around RM250-RM260. Try to buy the big quantity at one go or buy a few times within few days, so the boss remembers you and will be more willing to give discount. That's what I did. QUOTE(reil @ Oct 16 2018, 05:45 PM) Hi... I want to ask 1. I’m using nippon paint. The problem is the colour swatches in the colour books are too dark as compared to actual colour and some colour totally have different undertones. I know getting colour samples is the best, but I can’t find any shop that provide samples? Where can you get samples? Or you really need to buy 1L everytime? :’( Thank you in advance:) I have asked a few shops before and they told me no samples. I also have problem with nippon's color swatches. The color always turns out a few shades lighter than the swatches. When I first bought my house, I use all Nippon, all turned out not the color I want. Even their online interactive apps does not show the actual color. I use Dulux this time (but also has to choose carefully), and love the result! If you don't mind the trouble, use this website https://encycolorpedia.com/7f8486. Key in the color code you think is your choice. It will describe your paint - whether it is closer to what color. More red hue percentage will means it will look warm on the wall, more blue will have a cooler feel. This post has been edited by lowlowc: Nov 9 2018, 04:01 PM
