hi all,

I got quoted for dulux pentalite paint by my reno contractor, but they had used maxilite plus instead. Is the quality and price different a lot for the two variants?

I got my 18L maxilite (white colour) around RM60++.
Pentapower, I think RM100+/- for 5L.

Dulux is priced a premium because of its quality. It last longer than maxilite as I have used them before. If you plan to repaint every few years, can just use a normal brand. But if you want to keep it long, then use Dulux or Nippon. Avoid other brands.

Very big difference in price and quality!

Pentalite is decent/quite good paint. Maxilite, people use it for house or parts that just want something cheap (like store room?), don't care about quality.

Sometimes you will see the hardware shop showing Nippon or Jotun banner but just go inside and ask if they have Dulux. Maybe Dulux Malaysia didn't sponsor them signboards biggrin.gif .

Setia Alam got 2 shops selling. Price varies by color and series so very hard to say they are charging cheaper or not. Satin Glo (satin finish) is significantly more expensive than Pentalite and Easycare (both matte).

I remember I bought mine Easycare and Pentalite (Jan18) 5 litre around RM90-100, 15litre around RM250-RM260. Try to buy the big quantity at one go or buy a few times within few days, so the boss remembers you and will be more willing to give discount. That's what I did.

Location? Single or double storey? Intermediate or corner/end-lot?

I got quoted exterior wall double storey (back side only) around rm700~rm800, inclusive of cleaning, 1 undercoat & 2 top coats, without patching (since it’s new). Paint I supply.

I suggest go auto shop and buy auto tint instead.
Light go in but minimal heat.

If you don’t want light.... will need a few coats of paint on the indoor side. Normal water based paint will do.

Hi all, any good and recommended place to buy paint in Kota Kemuning? Jotun preferably? Can expand further away from the aforementioned place as well..like Shah Alam, Subang, etc. Thanks.
