my area only can get ip 115.xx.. or 124.xx...

i noticed..every nite on weekday..my bandwidth kena capping..8.30pm til 3am...
speedtest can only get 0.4mb-0.8mb for download..
example last nite..


but after 3am..everything back to normal...

I am curious about the streamyx 4Mbps. Do you get a higher total download speed compared to 1Mbps? What the highest you have ever gained from Torrents download and Direct Download? As far as I know, the download speed for 1Mbps is capped at 150-160kBps max for most users. I was thinking of using the 4Mbps but I am now considering it if there are any chance that they provide faster download.

With 4mbps, you should get around 400-500KB/s.

400kb to 460kb depending on overhead for torrent. For DDL u should get 460kb max.

TM Tech call me this morning he said the line has been fix however i'm in Tg Malim so can't verify their work has been done or not

Then for YT and RS need to do what to unthrottle?

U know u guys keeping asking about RS n Youtube being throttled u got to consider this:

Both of them do not have every server mirroring all their files/videos.
Some servers have a lot of files/videos on it that is popular compared to others hence they tend to be slower since so many people r trying to access them.
Sometimes the nearest server to u that has the file has to make many hops before it can reach u.

Youtube was slow before. But before last October-November last year, it was super fast. After that, youtube got slowed down, same with RS with the throttling went into full force. And definitely things started to feel shitty too on other stuff(browsing etc).

That would explain why tunneling/vpn your connection (which oddly adds more hop) is enabling people to stream youtube faster. Its just a case of traffic shaping by TM however occasionally yes there is congestion but every single day... really?

For rapidshare i'd have to say thats a clear case of traffic shaping, an extreme one. Some people PAY to download, i.e. premium user. So what congestion are you talking about? For free users it's normal for rapidshare to throttle users but premium users erk.. what happen?

if u subcribe for 4mb...get 3.5Mb still consider ok..

if u want sharp2 4mb..better subcribe for leased line

call the installer or tech... or make a report abt slow browsing.

Yup max capped can be set at 5120 kbps good luck i can get this on my second line by tommorow both capped at 5120 x 2 = HSSB speed lol

I think tm start capping speed for 4mb after 8/9pm every night. Only got 1/1.5mb only. Sometimes below 1mb. Speed normal back after 3am. Send screenshot to tm but all they ask is to be patience. It's been almost a month. Seem other person also experience this
