Almost similar to my case, tho in my case, the new rate was introduced before I applied and TMPoint didn't bother to let me know.. I learned about the new rate a day after I applied .. and when I asked the call centre, they said that I'm on the new rate .. but when the bill came, it was on the old rate.. ohwell.. go to TMPoint and argue your case .. at least it save you RM240 for a year contract..

I see ... then looks like another trip to TMpoint is unavoidable ... sigh ... they never make it easy for customer ... thanks again wiraone.

Weird. I applied on Thursday evening, Friday morning they came to test and change to BB deal 4mbps.
Saturday still 1mbps, then Sunday morning up to 4.15mbps already smile.gif Actually it depends on 2 things:-

1) The reliable of TM POINT branch, kota damansara branch is doing fast and great submission.
2) If your area covered until 1mbps only. Upgrade for what? Luckily here until 6mbps also can so 4mbps is not a problem.

View my signature smile.gif Currently torrent-ing 1 movie, 2 porn, 9 mp3, surfing net, GG-dota, streaming blackburn vs arsenal. Cool.
what???? I upgraded for free of charge.
-----------
My friendly advice + suggestion:
Test your speed on every link below:-
http://www.speedtest.net
http://www.pingtest.net
http://speedtest.streamyx.com.my/
http://www.digi.com.my/internet/broadband
http://speed.p1.com.my/

After add all of them, my average still would be around 3.7Mbps. I'm cool, at least higher than 3.5Mbps tongue.gif

just got my first bill but I find it kinda weird though..

I'm still being charged RM160 and not RM140 as per the new pricing. And I subscribed as on the blockbuster package on day 1 itself. rclxub.gif

Can anyone tell me why my speed is slow even though upgrade to 4 MB? Download speed still in 1.5 MB range which is 120 - 140 KBPS.

Now download stuff also 2 - 10 KB. Can anyone tell me how to complain to TMNet since they just keep on spouting useless nonsense like you get 3.4 MB from TMNet Speedometer is fine liao or System down =_=

I'm gonna repeat what they say, if you have 3.4Mbps speed test, it means your 4Mbps is working.
Since you got such a slow speedtest, why not call 100 and tell them you got less than 3.4Mbps.

Torrent speed depends on Seed/Peer Ratio. 1000Seeds but 10000 peers and your speed will still be slow.
Try google on how to speed up your torrent, instead of ranting here about how slow your torrent is on your Streamyx.
Want better speeds, you go invest in Rapidshare/MU/HF etc.

For my case, I apply Unipack 4m on 22 April and got the confirmation slip d, they tell me to wait for the technician to come see my line can afford or not, but till now havent got any response or change for my 1m package to 4m. Called 100 today they said that my application is still pending, then i asked y take so long, he said he dunno also and tell me to call TMpoint where i applied shakehead.gif . Do anybody encounter this problem?? Around 2weeks time already, Do I really have to wait so long for their call and help to upgrade my connection??

Is it normal for the downstream rate to keep changing? I recently upgraded from 1mb to 4mb and when the upgrade process was completed, my downstream rate was at 4096kbps. But I was experiencing some pretty strange speeds for the past couple of days. Due to the whole earthquake/faulty underwater cable incident, my speeds were around the 1.5mb/s mark but after it was reported to have been fixed (and after another phone call to TMNet's hotline regarding another problem verified that my speeds were back to normal), my download speeds seem to be capped at the 2mb/s mark.

So I went to take a peek at the router settings to check on the line attenuation and all that jazz, I noticed that my downstream rate was set to 2040kbps. Was just curious to find out if it's a normal occurrence or if it's something I should complain about to TMNet. It's been a good 2 days now since the downstream rate was changed.

With TM you have to complain complain and complain until your case is settled. Else complain some more because they won't know or don't care if something is wrong and can't be bothered to fix it until they hear a complain from the customer.

So complain away whistling.gif
