You must be kidding me. hmm.gif Maxis BB better than TMNUT alot. Even upgrade won't charge extra + 2x the speed. thumbup.gif

If TMNUT, I think thrice.

This is a promotion and TM is not re-pricing the streamyx package.
It is the same for any other thing like astro. For those subscribing to astro now get newer decoder but old-time subscriber get slower yet older decoder.
Can i get new decoder if i'm old subscriber?
It is the same also when you buying a car in promotion or different time. Some get lower rate, some get higher rate and the rates are different.
Can i get lower rate if my rate is higher than theirs?
*
This may be the start of a re-pricing.

A decoder or car is different because it is a physical thing. Streamyx is a service. If your Astro subscribtion is now RM100 and they have new packages similar to your for RM50, don't you think you should be able to change to the new price? If in the past you were paying a higher rate for the electricity service and now they reduce the price per unit, do you still pay the old price or new? Similarly for toll or your bus pass etc etc. There is a difference between tangible products vs intangible services.

If it is re-pricing then i agree with you. But this is a "upgrade" promotion offered to subscribers using streamyx for more than 1 year. This may not be a start of re-pricing.
Remember, TM offered 1Mbps promotion package at RM77 last few years but yet there are a lot 1Mbps users paying RM88 (no re-pricing).

yap same with me... I've been using Streamyx since 2004 and pay monthly bill for streamyx RM88. My sister and my brother last year subscribed for streamyx ...they just have to pay RM77.00 monthly and they get double speed (2 meg)... When I asked streamyx about this...as usual they denied... laugh.gif

I believe it is a re-pricing this time,

http://karhoe.net/streamyx-free-upgrade.html

Not being a blog whore, but it's a TL:DR post on why I think it's a repricing

my bill always rm77 for 1mb + 26 line rental rm 103

asked them if i upgrade to 4 mb combo is rm130 (streamyx + line rental)

so its additional rm27 bucks to up from 1mb to 4mb, worth it la i think

except , bound by contart to 2 years XD

I think you misunderstood.
Its without the rental. If you add the rental, it is RM156 liao...

For me, since Im one of those who reg 1mbps but my line is 1.5mbps, I wont be wasting time and money on it.

Didn't really bother as it is still expensive. Not to mention their network is overcrowded and even have problems with 1Mbps.

I'm using Combo, so they pay RM95, I pay RM110, screwed !!!

It definitely has to be repricing, the last package revision was in 2004, and you think TM going to stick to the same package for another 2 years? By that time, some of existing subscribers could have potong-ed already tongue.gif , and the repricing will complement HSBB

hi guy..need opinion on u guys who researched about streamyx service..i just got streamyx few days ago with the lowest wifi combo(384kbps) just for testing purpose.. tongue.gif

well i talked to the guy(technician maybe) who came to setup my streamyx..he said 1mbps=rm110, 2mbps=rm140..now im confuse..is the price he talking about is normal price? checked streamyx website=different price pulak, more confuse..enough of the confusion.. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

ive been thinking to upgrade my screamyx cause dl speed so slow, around 40kb/s(duh, 384kbps right), so should i take 1mbps or 2mbps package?
is there big difference in term of downloading speed between those 2? icon_question.gif

we all know screamyx sucks but its the only isp thats dominate our country so weather i like it or not, to go online i have to use it(ive tested other isp like maxis, celcom etc)..better hope there will be more competitor like wimax to shake tmnut to be better..

pm me would be better smile.gif
