Never happen as u never has hotpixel, or never has pixel mapping occured on your A350 ?

Not many ppl will always shoot very long exposure time, thus this might not be an issue for them.

I send my camera to SONY twice, first time when the kit lens jam, I ask them to remove my hot pixel, and yes.. the sensor is clean from hotpixel. After near to 1 year, before the warranty end, I send to SONY the 2nd time. I ask them to check on hotpixel again... The engineer told me that.. if not very critical, better don do it, as this might increase the noise when shooting long shutter.. I was like "huh, oh.. OKay..."

trust me, u cant enter sony thread ask sony vs other model, same to enter nikon thread ask nikon vs sony. there might be a bias feedback and it is really up to personal preference. some like nikon because the color slightly vivid compare to other, some like sony or canon may be the color a bit warm. some buy sony bcos they like minolta lenses and carl zeiss lens, some like sony bcos it is no video record. majority is influent by fren. i got see my fren totally dont what is dslr buy canon 450D after 2 week sold it rugi 200 and buy d90 just because brain wash by others in TT. very funny

and there are too many other feature to compare epsecially in term of noise and low light. just ask yourself which feature u like then buy it. i can tell you one feature that is a550 no video record and d90 do have. laugh.gif (actually i m the noobest at here, may ingore my message if others reply lol n one last thing. if u enter nikon thread they say sony a550 good i potong tongue.gif )

I am going to argue for this again.. A100 maybe have pixel mapping, but for sure A200/A300/A350 don have pixel mapping. Dont know about A230/A330/A380 or A500/A550. The hot pixel stay at the same location and never change. While for the A700. I do notice that the hot pixel being removed after some time.

So SONY actually remove some thing from A100 and make a cheaper model of A200.

got la bro pixel mapping for a300...on ur camera, turn lv,go to menu and choose the spanar options...there u get the pixel mapping function....

signither: Nice! And it doesn't look underexposed.

hkhk: To be specific, you mean pixel mapping on the sensor? As far as I know every time the month changes, the camera scans the sensor for hot pixels and remaps them. This is different from the Pixel Mapping option in the menu of Live View Alphas, to scan the Live View sensor.

That said I have never encountered a problem with pixel mapping on the A100/A700/A900, and I have not used other Alphas for over a few months to see it. Hot pixels caused by long exposures are perfectly normal. I've posted the links before. There's black frame subtraction there which is meant for long exposures. If you have to make a few long exposures, take one black frame and use that on all the exposures.

jimlim007: How about auto-focus speed in Live View? All other brands fail at that.

Ya.. hot pixel on the sensor, caused by long exposure.
True, it can be removed by the Long Exp NR. i send the camera for servicing when warranty almost end. Like other, I ask them to check on the AF, check on the hotpixel issue sekali, since sometime I still found some white pixel when i shoot with Long Exp NR ON.

congrats.
I use Maha Imedion 2100mAh.
other good candidates are Eneloop and SONY Cycle Energy.

all those mentioned are good i belive
just make sure, do not get GP batteries
from my experience Maha Imedion perform much much better than GP in terms of durability
after more than 10 times recharging, the capacity decrease a lot
