Late reply, long weekend ma....

Going to GSC online booking is like going to HELL nowadays..... can still go in if keep refreshing, problem is when u pay.... it sometimes processes, then hangs, and the system "locks" ur preferred seats that they refuse to sell to u..... geez....

Off topic ends...

Which means my a200 is slow with this card then cause I noticed it is quite slow when processing. For example, I took a shutter speed of 10secs and it took at least 10secs to process. Is it my body doesnt support such card or the card is slow? -.-
Sifus, pls correct me if i am wrong (wanna learn too ma...),

I read somewhere that the processing time will be EXACTLY the same as the shutter open time as this is due to the processing and not to the card speeds.

So, if i set a shutter speed of 30seconds, the body will take another 30 seconds to process the image (and save it during the process as well).....

Am i wrong on this??

hey, a300 user, do you think that controller and shutter button is quite 'odd' to press?

A300 noobie here.... btu what u mean controller AND shutter button?? WTF is controller button??

Damn, just read yr post further down..... i dont get it.... the camera has an area for u to rest yr thumb, its the empty areas above the "controller", so rest it there..... yr thumb shld not b on the "controller" as you may induce body shake if your grip is not secure and comfy....

Thats me la..

even if i wanted Video i still will not get D90, i rather get HX-1, half the price of the body, FULL HD + G lens (up to 400mm) + marco + Autofocus and best of all, ExmorR (better then the old D90 sensor).

then spend the extra on a new Alpha biggrin.gif

I was in KL last week and stumble upon the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro Lens.

Anyone can share whether this sigma lens is better or worst than the Tamron SP AF90 DiMacro?

Wonka: When you shoot a long exposure, the sensor will heat up. This will cause extra noise in your picture.

The camera takes another picture with the shutter closed at the exact same exposure time. This 'picture' is called the black frame, and has only the noise generated from the heat of a long exposure, without the actual picture.

So the camera then takes your original picture with long exposure noise, and subtracts the black frame.

Shot A: Original picture + long exposure-induced noise
Shot B: No picture + long exposure-induced noise
Final Shot = Shot A - Shot B = Picture without long exposure noise!

You can turn off Long Exposure NR but you'll have long exposure noise lah.

check if they slip in any toto number... tongue.gif

erm, ur reciept, there wrote what u send in,
filter? front/back caps.
then, check did they loosen the rubber grip/focus ring too much or not (they open the rubber grips for the screw that hold the lens together)...
check properly if there is still dust inside or not,
check ur front and BACK element (glass) for scratches.
mount it on ur camera, see if the mount tightness is acceptable or not. that's about it

snap 1-2 shoot at max apperture to check if there is dust (check ur sensor also if dirty or not blink.gif )

wow that is something new i learn today. thanks to sifu albnok again for his good explanation.

albnok, even at iso100/200 (on A3xx) noise are introduce wouldnt be a big deal rite?

*edit: by stating that, does that mean noise are consistant pattern? i always though noise was inconsistent pattern. (if they use shotA minus ShotB will remove noise)
so if they just improve the coding of those, it is possible to design NR that will work on iso800 and higher? that sounded simple... (so i assumed that nikon's design are also like that on thier passive noise reduction? everytime u shoot a high iso photo, it record another blackframe and deduct it? i find nikon high iso picture are noise-less but much softer then our high iso)

Q : quick questions regarding strobism. can we use always-on light instead of flashlight ? can it be considered as strobism ? I don't understand why do the lights have to keep flashing ... icon_question.gif

strobist is just a method using the flashgun~ mounted or WL, both are considered as a action of strobing.

the room light, well, because it is always on, it bounces all over the wall, making the light goes all direction, causing subject to light up, instead of having a high tension light directional photoes of strobist.

it's just a new age of photography why, directional light make the photo more attractive with diff exposure key on the subject, instead of the Old Boring flat fill flash.

many people gets creative and DIY own light or beauty bowl, ring flash/light, snoot light, dark room, there is even one fellow uses the sunlight as his strobe! tongue.gif

when inside strobist.blogspot, u will notice, instead of making fashion/magazine/model photographs, he creates more of art, pro-folio, or (read 'cookies') create artificial light like 'windows-effect' making the room/bg more interesting for a subject.

ieR: Yes, Nikon and every other brand use the same black frame subtraction method. My Canon Powershot A520 has this also.

Long exposures bring out the hot pixels (which are more consistent in place.)

Hi albnok,

Actually it's not a very big issue for me with the hotpixel. I shot long shutter occasionally. And I can do the dark substraction manually using GIMP/photoshop or software with layer capability.

I did not goto SONY and ask them to fix it purposely.. those 2 times I send is becoz I need to service the jammed lens for the 1st time, and 2nd time is just before warranty end. I don like to be without my camera during weekend. smile.gif I think now no more white pixel with Long Exp NR on..

Oh.. i pointed this hotpixel issue coz somebody asking about NR. smile.gif
