Just came back from Carrefour Sri Petaling and saw that they were having a sale on LCD tv's. There was one that kinda caught my interest and thought you guys might wanna know. They're selling the Phillips 42' Full HD tv(42PFL7422) at Rm5999, kinda cheap IMO for a full HD tv. My Sharp 42-incher(LC42BX5M) is now selling for Rm4999 , got mine at Rm8000 cry.gif

I just came back from Best Denki KLCC, it's really amazing to see Sony X series in action side by side with W series, both are 1080p, but the X series has more frame rate than the W series, this is because X series is 100hz.
Watching film on W series like watching film, but watching film on X series like watching drama due to higher frame rate.

They also have 103" Panasonic Plasma TV on display at RM 220k! (can buy condo + car shocking.gif )

Anyone know what's the pros and cons between plasma and lcd tv?

From what i know, plasma is good for,

watching astro
no lagging issue
colours are more warm

While lcd are good for :

ps3 or hd/br dvd, compare to plasma
cheaper?

The cons for plasma is very hot, consume more power, and old technology that is not worth to invest? But yet still few manufacturers like hitachi, lg, panasonic etc are still producing it?

Anyone with Plasma can shows which model you are using?

wat is 24p?

the 2 models that i am looking, Hitachi p42a01a and LG 42pc5r are offering 1024 resolution only, is that 1080i or 720p?

Full HD for Plasma is over budget for me, asked one Hitachi 42" Full HD is bout 11k.

I think is 1000,i saw the sonystyle show W series with 8999 instead of 9999 last time.

Nevermind just check and HD ready one reduce 500 while Full HD 40 inch one reduce 1000 and 40 inch + one reduce 2000.

Try watching Spiderman Blu-ray on the Pioneer Kuro and u'll eat your own statement tongue.gif . yeah i know they're expensive but heck, they're in a totally different league. I always thought to myself..how much better can plasmas it be? When i finally saw it on the Kuro, i'm an instant believer in Plasmas or should i say, instant convert?

Affordable Kuros are still 720p/1080i. Going up in size would get you 1080p, but going up in size also means going up in debt too.

It's funny that stores like Harvey Norman only put them Kuros on sizes below 50 inches, perhaps because anything beyond 50 inches are also beyond the grasp of the general public, monetary-wise?

Dont get me wrong, i'd love to get me some Kuros, but until they either start denominating the price down or adding 1080p into smaller Kuros (preferably 42in), it will stay and remain only in my short list.

It is a good option for those who had not migrated onto any HDTVs, but to those wanting to see if it is worth upgrading from their current HDTVs, even those HD-ready ones, the benefits are not that enticing, at least not to me.

1080p Kuros or them 768p native? Coz the only 1080p Kuros are that singular 50 incher PDP-LX508/5080D variation and that crazy 60 incher PDP-LX608/6080D version that is im sure out of our grasps.

Any particular reason why you'd want an LCD TV instead of an LCD monitor? Most of the 19" monitors are below RM1000 and you can get the Dell 22" for under RM1300.
