Exactly. I wonder what movie it is. The PS3 lacks a hardware scaler (unlike the 360) so sometimes there are issues with resolutions on some media. Have you updated your PS3 to the latest firmware? Also it could be that the movie wasn't mastered for 720p?

mostly blurays are mastered or transferred to 1080p rite?
normally 480p are those extras footage

I suggest u try using component cable (actually, i'm not really sure myself tongue.gif ). Maybe it'll works, the cable is only under RM25. icon_rolleyes.gif

When I tried out my friend's PS3 on my Philips, all the BD movies he had displayed in 1080i.

This was thru HDMI. There shouldn't be a difference (besides the obvious quality) when you use analog for the PS3, as component does support all the way up to 1080i.

hmmm , dem weird, as neoardi said, just try on component lor, see whether got anydifference

tested on LCBX6M, no problem @ all, using HDMI as well

Exactly. Also, try some other BD movies if you have them. It could be that the problem is only with that particular movie.

ya 480p is the indication from the TV, but i dont think the signal would be false ler, coz if 720p the indication will stated 720p

yalar, its suppose to work tat way, but who knows?

last time i read in a forum, some blu ray got probelm one, but i dun think its resolution problem, like the show chronos, some ppl after update liao, i thnk kenot play

Wah! That's bad then.

Usually if the TV says it's 720p or 480p then I'd take it as accurate, besides you can tell the difference when in that mode. Check your TV documentation on supported resolutions also, although I'm sure the Sharp TV is very advanced with that regard.
