try asking niclasteoh if im not mistaken he provided some modding services n based on the pictures all of them are quite clean cut...
a better looking?hmm...dat depends on ur creativity i guess...but then again it may need some DIY tho...try surfing the net for some ideas...some ppls use steel bracket that they riveted n slide the acrylic panel...some put alu mesh with the acrylic... about ur WC setup...it all depends really... - how much r u using ur pc and gc - r u a harcore gamer? - will u be OC-ing ur gc and cpu? - how much r u willing to spend think about it n make ur decision according ur needs... |

ermm...do u included the shipping fees?
i think plus shipping fees it will cost u around 500 more...im not sure... tubing i think normally around 5-6 feet...try asking clawhammer as he is more experience in this area... isnt the 420 quite big?im not sure it can fit ur case tho...can it?try measure n see first...or if not...u can always go dual loop... owh...based on the pic i think can... about niclasteoh...yes he is in sarawak...the shipping will cost u some money...but i think he does laser cutting...im not sure...try check with him... or u could try ask some forumer whos willing to mod for u...im sure there's some1 with the right price... hmmm..the setuo altho seems quite simple...but if u think about it can prove quite a hassle...first of all...where to put the reservoir, pump n radiator lol?outside?but where?lying about?
plus IMO the casing got loads of space...u can put the pump n res inside without much diff...y bother burdening urself by putting it outside? just my 2 cents.. |

I don't think your casing would fit a quad rad and even if it does, it would be a very very tight fit

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Nov 20 2009, 11:54 AM) Well if you guys think it can be done good without laser i am willing to consider. Any thoughts though about the window mode? i'd say get a better fan for the rads.. slipstreams My old case just had the acrylic riveted into the aluminium from the outside of the side panel... or is there a better looking way of adding the window? I just want a simple looking square acrylic window with thick Ac Ryan acrylic. This is my pc specs CPU: Intel I7 920 Motherboard: P6T Deluxe V2 Memory: 3 sticks of 2gb Corsair Dominator DDR3 Casing: Lian Li PC-A71F This was the suggested package offered to me to resemble this other project http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1162196 1 x Swiftech Apogee XT LGA1366 & LGA1156 1 x aquagraFX for GTX 285 (G200b) 1 x Swiftech MCP655 1 x Swiftech 3 x 120mm radiator 3 x Scythe 120mm SlipStream SY1225SL12SH - 110 CFM 1 x EK-Multioption RES 250 rev.2 reservoir 12 x Bitspower Compression fittings 1/2" 3/4" 8 x Bitspower 45 degree 4 x Bitspower 90 degree rotaries 6 feet Feser UV White/Black 1/2in. So no point investing in a water block specific for the Asus P6T Deluxe V2 yes? Any comments regarding this setup? And is water cooling really necessary for my Nvidia 285 graphics card or can i remove that from my setup to cut costs? |

Even a TJ07 suffers the same issue I'll try upload But looking at it, there doesn't seem to be a place to attach the radiator at the top. Do i need to drill hole or something? One case that I know of that is ready for top mount radiator is the CM HAF932. Nways, looks like its gonna be a good mod. Cant wait for more progress |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Nov 25 2009, 08:31 PM) I took some pictures of my case (low res :[ ) yep.. i had to cut and drill mine, remember if ur cutting with dremel/rotaratory tools, always cut 0.5cm away then the original measurement cause u will need to file it (they dont produce sharp cuts, instead wavy ones).. I'll try upload But looking at it, there doesn't seem to be a place to attach the radiator at the top. Do i need to drill hole or something? QUOTE(tesla_rage @ Nov 25 2009, 10:07 PM) If there are no screw holes, you will have to drill some. Even a TJ07 suffers the same issue the obsidian 800D got pre-drilled screw holes for 360 rad.. not sure what rads can fit, maybe standard ones can but the old thermochill which have a bigger gap between the screws might not be able to fit..One case that I know of that is ready for top mount radiator is the CM HAF932. Also it is old model isn't it? Not to say it's bad but there are some newer models out with thinner fins benchmark dekat2 je to be honest.. depends on what fan u using.. the SR1/Feser360 works best with 1200RPM fans compared to the GTX360, while the GTX360 beat all of the rads Also the build quality is not as good solid as the HW Labs one. I'm picky Added on November 26, 2009, 12:14 am Claw i was looking again at your project http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1162196  the casing has the same chasis at the top. Can yours fit a 420  3x140 radiator? Any comment. I found a benchmark roundup for the different radiators. http://skinneelabs.com/Radiators/TripleV2/Triples-V2.html i suggest to u get a fan that runs quite and put them in a push/pull config conclusion = grab the HWlabs 360.. if not enough $$, the Swiftech 320 should do =) This post has been edited by reiben05: Nov 27 2009, 11:11 PM |

You will need a sketch to figure out what you need
Stupid sketch like this one is good enough http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=30187979 Once you come up with one, then its easier for us to help. But definitely your loop will be about the same as mine. 5 meters of tubing should be just nice. That tube is RM20/feet woah You will need to plan out where you want to put your pump and radiator This post has been edited by tesla_rage: Nov 30 2009, 04:25 PM |

Radiator inside case at the top. Not quite sure how to secure it there cauz i'm not an expert. Also need to make a hole on the top of the case to add in a AC Ryan stripe cover for some airflow for the 3 radiator fans. The reservoir just use the EK 250 reservoir put inside the case between the motherboard tray and the hard drive cage. Pump would be inside the case. Not sure if put it on case floor or should attach it somehow to the drive cage. hm.... Ok i will switch to 5 meter, thanks for advise. Just wish i knew more about compression and rotary fittings cause i know squat. If get wrong size g_g; |

that u need to ask clawhammer himself lol.. i think he has like 8x rotaratory 45° fittings and 4x rotaratory 90° fittings
i only got 4 of each..( 4x 90° and 4x 45°) as for compression fittings size.. it depends on the tubes u use.. thats all if ur using 1/2"ID 3/4"OD fittings, then u'll need 1/2"ID 3/'4OD compression fittings (i prefer silver, clawhammers one are black but doesnt matter) same for 7/16"ID, 5/8"OD tubes.. u'll need the fittings with the same size.. if ur going black tubes.. dont bother using UV coolant.. u wont see it anyway lolz.. unless ur gonna use a mix of transparent tubing + black ones.. |

any G1/4 will suit yours compression fitting size of 1/2 - 3/4. For every 90/45 degree rotaries you need compression fittings. 8 90 or 45 degrees mixed.
1. Swiftech MCP655 12v DC Pump - with Speed Controller - do not need any compression fitting or 90/45 degree unless you want to mod it using Bitspower mod kit & mod top. 2. Swiftech Apogee XT CPU Waterblock - a pair of compression fittings and 2 x 45 degree rotaries here. 3. Aqua Computer aquagraFX for GTX 285 (G200b) G1/4. You are not going for sLI? so need only a pair of compression fittings here and 2 x 45 @ 90 degree rotaries here. 4. EK Waterblocks EK-Multioption RES 250 rev.2 - you need another a pair of compression fittings and 2 x 45 @ 90 degree rotaries here. 5. 7 feet x Tygon R3603 1/2in. ID 3/4in. OD Laboratory Tubing # AAC00038 - this one no need compression fittings / 45 & 90 degree rotaries. hope this help you to get a conclusion. |

i suggest u rethink the hydra board, if u thinkin of pairing ati and nvidia u might as well scrap the hydra idea cause the latest demo they show and list the mixed card has 3 compatible games on it.....

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 3 2009, 12:10 PM) Hydra also has game support limitation? Wow i didn't know this i already post the answer about feser vs water. if you're using distilled water, you need to flush whenever you think it's a necessary for you to do that. BTW it's a still cheap source that you can pick up for your rig build. But i not recommend the distilled water for newbie setup. Mistake is always happen. What if fit 2 nvidia cards together, will there be any such restrictions? Or is it only applicable to cross brand cards? I'm now thinking if i should drop using Feser and just use distilled. I posted my question over in a more appropriate thread for it http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1126151/+20 And can someone advise me regarding water cooling maintenance? Why do i keep seeing the word flushing involved? Do i have to drain the water from the system every few months for total replacement? Or can i just replace as the water lessens? By using feser one liquid, you just need to top up if you see any dehydration happen in times to come. It gives you two years or maybe tilt before you can see any drop of performance, by that time you need to flush it and replace by using a new one. |

u can either use a t-line
example of a T-Line: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...ling_T-Line.JPG u have to dissamble ur system btw.. nothing in WC is easy to on ur pump.. take ur 24 pin Mobo PSU cable and short the green wire and a black one (any black one will do).. i use a pair of compasses for it Added on December 3, 2009, 7:44 pm QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 3 2009, 09:57 AM) Thx kInOzAwA and Reiben. I sorta understand a bit. u can fit both a 45 and 90 degree a block depends on how many inlet/outlet it has.. and u have to put a compression fittings on top of it.. So let me get this straight, for radiator, waterblocks, reservoir and pump there is an inlet and outlet port. Each port should have compression fittings also fixed with either a 45 or a 90 degree rotary each? So cpu block would have 1 compression and 1 rotary (either the 45 or the 90?) I hope i got this right Just as i suspected, i need to now get a modified pump mod top Modified MCP655 pump with the G1/4 port http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/sicumclad5wi.html Bitspower Gaudy mod add on http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/bid5mcmodkit.html EK power plain mod add on http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/ekwaekxforla.html @kInOzAwA : No point using SLI for me until Hydra chip motherboards start coming out. It's more efficient at pairing graphics cards to get the most benefit for combined FPS increase, also you don't need graphics card connectors, and can use different models and brands. i'll upload some pictures to make u understand better i agree with u with the hydra thingy.. the drivers haven't mature yet.. buying the board now is like suicide unless ur testing it for fun (or have shitloads of money to waste This post has been edited by reiben05: Dec 3 2009, 07:44 PM |

if you are aquarium technology savvy it's a bit easy to assemble all these thing. More or less it's still have the same method like you assemble the canister pump like eheim to your aquarium setup.. it's still easy...

i think it will be hard to make top bit a fill port if by "top bit" u mean the bit with the little screw on it as u have to tighten it to make it a close loop system?
u can take the whole top off to add liquid though check if ur card is reference just strip the card and check the design on the block website. This post has been edited by kevink82: Dec 4 2009, 10:43 AM |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 4 2009, 03:20 PM) Ok for thermal paste the results say Noctua NT-H1 is the best lol.. actually Tuniq TX3 is the still the best for load. you can get it locally. The price around RM25 above. Still cheap though.. http://www.rbmods.com/content/16597/introduction.aspx A mouse bungee i'm ordering. My mouse wire has been annoying the hell out of me forever x_x; http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/890757 anyway, in case you want to get a GFX WB locally you can always find Clawhammer and ask/reconfirm your GC spec. He's the best on providing advice for new comers of WC. Anyway it's still easy to flush the water without using your mentioned item, only open up the reservoir top (EK multioption) and then just spill it out to other bekas.... |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 4 2009, 05:21 PM) Tuniq it is then, thx. that's a nice thing.. if its already stated that the tubing contains antimicrobial thing for what we need the biocide bro? maybe u should install it first then, let see how goes inside the tube. either its perfect runs or will have another problem like algae even with antimicrobial tubing. So, this will be a good source for the new comer later.... Kino i think i will change the tubing to Tygon® Silver Antimicrobial Tubing 1/2in. ID 3/4in. OD # AS600038 http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/tysiantu1id3.html Someone posted the difference between Tygon R3603 and Tygon Silver Antimicrobial http://www.overclock.net/water-cooling/434...r-vs-tygon.html Cause apparently this is better if opting to use distilled water (which is also non conductive by the way). Do i still need to use bio cide and a silver kill coil with that tubing? |

The later isn't too bad, but the motherboard tray was a let down >-<; other than that, i really like this case ![]() Source: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showth...t=238351&page=4 Anyway i want to make the reservoir and pump sorta like this generally. QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 13 2009, 08:53 PM) If thats the case better not then hahahha it depends on how you handle the computer... if it's on load 100% 24hrs soon what you said is true.. it's because when u oc the temp is not normal, that's why WC is a good solution for that... Susai: No i'm not rich. I just don't spend my money on outings, beer or any of those stuff. I use that money instead on my gaming rig :/ let's go extreme ocers...................... |

what's the point if u dont OC at all and ending up with those high end wc gears... juz donate to me
the statement u mentioned are true if u are fully on stock heatsinks... and also do note that no matter how good ur cooling are, there are always risk to reduce lifespan of the cpu. Over voltage etc, internal wire degration etc... even u didnt OC, internal wire degration also happens, just at slower pace. Same as heat, the more cooler the proc. the longer the lifespan. Its not we cant OC, juz that to make sure our OC didnt reduce too much of the lifespan of components, we OC accordingly with safe voltage limits and temperatures. Intel Spec Sheet max safe vcore is 1.55v if i not remember wrongly, its juz the matter of whether ur cooling gear can handle the heat generated... let's say if u can do 4.0ghz with nice temp @ stock vcore, y dun wan OC instead of running 2.66ghz with stock vcore.r What usage u on for 24/7 ? In my opinion, juz make surer the OC is stable enough not to crash ur job, else its safe to go... This post has been edited by lichyetan: Dec 14 2009, 08:53 AM |

so when is the actual WORK gonna be posted up? all ive read so far are only cooling Q&A... might as well put this thread in THIS section.... at least post some pix of the case or something... like the completed side panel and hardwares going into the case, etc etc. This post has been edited by mADmAN: Dec 14 2009, 09:40 AM |

depends on ur setup for overclocking and wut programs u run, ur worklog stats 1x triple radiator.
usually ppl running i7 with overclock use dual or triple rad on their own since it runs hot, if u add ur gpu into it then ill say the temp wont be that good if any different to ur air setup? u need to calculate how much heat it will put out and how fast ur radiator can remove those heat. |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 14 2009, 01:32 PM) Don't worry, i will disclose everything (pictures included) once i have it all setup :} anyway bro, there's tons information over the internet.. you need to understand the oc fundamental and it's best to know the bios function, the max oc you can go and the max voltage you can go, apart from a good chipset selection for the rams, so you're freely to go OC anytime... in DDR2 most people's RAM selection is always a micron D9 chipset and they're OC while keep the latency of the ram as tight as possible... In normal Intel processor environment, the multiplier was locked in the bios, so the Front side bus (FSB) has been used for oc, if the PC cannot boot or crash that shows the voltage is not enough to supply the power to the proc, this time we need to raise up the voltage to a suitable measurement. Monitor your temp closely too. But it's not all about the voltage, sometimes RAM is one of the other factor of why the pc cannot be booted up. This is why extreme ocers always go for the higher ram value. The possibility to overclock it is better than lower value of ram. It's not worth if you go to premium watercooling stuff but u did not oc your pc. It waste a lot of money bro. Learn your bios function, mobo to mobo got different talent and different settings for bios. And the most advance bios is called Genie bios which is a part of DFI mobo. For newbie, i recommend you to choose a user friendly bios that's found on the Asus or Msi mobo. All has been separated very well (highlighted) to let you know the function. Gigabyte need to hit 'F1' when you're inside the bios to OC. So the MIT, Mobo intelligent tweaker will appear in a screen after short while. Please refer to first post in thread for any updates. As for the many questions, is because i'm a newbie and still learning :} it helped me decide what parts i was gonna get, so it was worth asking as it was a big help for me. So if you had helped me with my questions thx. You will get to see the final progress of this project :} lichyetan: I agree it should be overclocked. Sadly i am not sure how and not willing to try myself so i don't break my pc. I will check with Modernopc first and see if they can help Ps: I'm a stability cpu kinda guy Even when i don't OC, i noticed using my stock intel cooler, the heat gets up to 70c ... From what i understand, these Intel Cpus were only designed to take heat up to 80c, after that point it will start damaging the cpu. |

keke yes u can ship it by urself and save a few or buy locally of course more expensive but u have the option of testing it out c if its working, and cosmestic scratch on parts u dont want before deciding to buy it or if it ends up faulty at least u have someone to blame rather than ship it back overseas and wait for replacement.
imo totally up to u i saw somewhere the xt block on sale for 59 usd, wut i really wonder is if i can ship a murdermod complete case here without and scratch lol..... maybe for next project ; ; |

nice fan controller, but plz dont stick ur pump in the fan controller simply cause it does not have enough power to drive one unless u feel like blowing somethin up.
if u read any review on fan controller no one has made one that has enough power to drive a pump no matter wut it says on the box. someone tested the lamptron with delta fans and there were some problems. ur mcp655 has flow settings on it use that instead. i think it looks better than the kaze master, but a claimed of 30w per channel is pretty unrealistic to me by looking at the pic.
no heatsink at all ; ; it will probably melt if u really put 30w through the thing on 1 channel. This post has been edited by kevink82: Dec 15 2009, 01:23 PM |

make a measurement to your rad width x height, put a mask tape on the top of the case while drawing the measurement there. and then cut it.

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 15 2009, 07:39 PM) Good idea Elphy. Maybe we can exchange notes >:D get a yate loon 140mm fan. should be good enough to be used as a intake fan. Elphy: I read your work log. If you want, you can wait a few more days. I am cutting my top panel for my radiator, once done, i will have 3 fans pushing air from below the radiator outwards. Later i will get 3 more Typhoons and install them above the radiator for pull. So it will then be push pull 3 fans bottom and above. I think the picture you posted is the better choice. I would have done the same but i don't have any modding skills. You can wait a bit and see how mine looks if you want, though it may take a week to sort out. By the way does anyone know any good 140mm fan? |

You can put it as an intake fan. Most corsair fan product use yate loon as their OEM maker. I haven't seen any reviews how they are :/ |

i recon just stick with the lian li stock, there isnt many 140mm fans on the market and none of them stands out a lot.
u sure u need 6 fans on the rad alone? its gonna add lots of noise and push pull config isnt that great since u already have good fans on them doing push. |

yate loons fans are sleeve bearing, means not as robust as ball bearing...
the reason they recommend yate loons running vertical is mayb the lifespan of the bearing, i think if hanging horizontal with bearing against gravity, eg.. top as exhaust, might reduce the fans lifespan... actually yate loons are not superb performance fans, its just best performance/price ratio at overseas... but when it came to malaysia, it become expensive... but the quality are good compare to CM etc, still 1 of the best fan to get... |

QUOTE(lichyetan @ Dec 16 2009, 07:41 PM) yate loons fans are sleeve bearing, means not as robust as ball bearing... yeah, i agree with what lichyetan said about yate loon. There are more fans which is expensive than a yate loon in overseas but didn't reach here in malaysia.. take example like Nexus fan. Some reviews site also said that Yate loon is overrated, but it's still a great performer around if compared with another fans like CM, Thermaltake etc... the reason they recommend yate loons running vertical is mayb the lifespan of the bearing, i think if hanging horizontal with bearing against gravity, eg.. top as exhaust, might reduce the fans lifespan... actually yate loons are not superb performance fans, its just best performance/price ratio at overseas... but when it came to malaysia, it become expensive... but the quality are good compare to CM etc, still 1 of the best fan to get... |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 16 2009, 07:48 PM) Just found a guide explaining about pc fans so, you're gonna order another typoon fan uh??? i might join u for ordering can? http://www.brighthub.com/computing/hardwar...cles/25393.aspx So basically the Lian Li 140mm are good cause apparently their dual ball bearing. I guess i won't change the stock 140mm, but i want to try the Gentle Typhoon for the exhaust because i know it's a good fan :] Not to say the Lian Li is shitty, just that i like how the Gentle Typhoon looks and the CFM for the noise level |

yes ill say gentle typhoon has been recommended by many as the ultimate radiator fan.
its not so much it has wonderful performance but rather its more balance. wut u want is low pressure drop when the air goes through the radiator fins. u wont notice much difference in temp so much maybe a 2-3c so i wont worry bout spending too much there. if u want ultimate cooling buy a marine aquarium chiller its like 1-2k ringgit and will chill water to 16c, i got one for my fish tank... if u dont mind the power bill its basically a aircon..... |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 18 2009, 08:44 PM) By the way does anyone know where i can buy the Intel Gen2 SSD 160gig for cheapest? For Intel X25-M 160GB G2, can ask hikari85 for the cheapest price in LYN.The only good thing i have to say about them is, i noticed that the kink coil listed was for 1/2 OD which was not the 3/4 OD i needed. I quickly asked them to change it which they did. So disaster was diverted luckily As for that Sidewinder, previously I got a bad experience with them during Computex fair in Taiwan. Order process delayed till almost a month, with lots of excuses until I ended up with canceling the order as my buyers couldn't wait anymore. They did sent wrong size of kink coil to me. I just keep it without replacement as shipping back is costing something. Somehow I like SW since their price is cheaper as compared to PPC & the courier fee is negotiable. |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 30 2009, 01:47 PM) Why should i incur the cost of sending back the wrong part when not my fault? please don't do it.. just wait until the real item arrive soon.. just finish the deal with them, if you don't need to resend back open a thread in garage sales and put the item on sale... I'm not doing that Anyway my rig is at moderno if anybody wants to go there for a look or to rob it ps: since the kink coil is 1/2'' od, is it recommended to stretch it to fit 3/4'' od ??? Will that work |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Jan 2 2010, 09:41 PM) I went down to Modernopc this saturday to check on the progress. so many zamri's haha'' Basically everything is fitted except: 1. Floppy drive (I discussed with Zamri and we decided to not install it because the cable made the cabling look bad. Also who need floppy these days.) 2. Tubing (I think Zamri was a bit busy with the other customer pc, also he wasn't sure to install yet since the anti kink coil couldn't fit) 3. Primo Chill Anti kink coil (Couldn't fit apparently. Performance-Pcs are sending me the replacement but i asked Zamri to install the water cooling first since i'm not waiting another week just for the primochill to arrive x_x; ) 4. Silver Kill Coil (Hand delivered to Zamri to install into reservoir 5. Power supply unit (haven't put inside yet) 6. Overclocking (Not yet done) 7. stress test with Prime95 (Not yet done) 8. Check if my Nvidia Geforce 285GTX graphics card is spoilt and need to replace under warranty (Not yet done) 9. Lamptron FC-5 (It's installed but i asked Zamri to add in heatsinks to the mosfets because i worry that it will over heat since i will be using 3 fans per channel for some of the knobs.) Anyway the ETA is either Monday or Tuesday :} By the way, whos rig is at Modernopc, looks damn cun damn maybe i should go open my own store for pc modding |

seems like a bottleneck case this time?? or there's something missing on setting via bios? i saw in my mobo option got memory low gap settings for graphic card memory bandwidth.. maybe that's lack on the setup... it's just my 2.25 cents anyway..
just running on game, set all the things high and see what happen |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Jan 5 2010, 04:49 PM) I agree but please consider the following: its gonna be tough if u change ur GFX later.. most high end gfx is longer and ur res is ngam2 beside ur current gfx 1. no available water block for the Asus 285GTX. I may upgrade graphics card in either 2010 or 2011. i have to agree with u on the motherboard.. same reason why i didn't buy any EK X58 chipsets yet but i am tempted haha |

he should be ok its pretty easy to move the res although im not sure bout water pressure drop though isnt it a bad idea to add 2 90 degree right before the pump?

nice setup and neat cable management as always from moderno. anyway for the pump, i think there's another solution from the current setup where the pump located just below the res. it's the best setup and seems the position of the pump location is better in that way, while the 2nd 90 degree rotary for drain port of water from res can be put in a more convenient place

he has a drain port at the bottom of the res if u look carefully not sure how u access it quiet tight by the looks but good craftmanship on modernopc i cant even c a scratch on the side panels

yes, i have seen that drain port thingy. But if he can move the pump towards better area like i supposed means the drain port can be put facing the side panel, which is more easily to drain compared to current setup
