basically nothing much to check. cause all SA will ask u to take the car 1st and come back claim at honda sc if u are unhappy with certain things.
and probably ur bro wont get any discount cause many ppl want 2010 car and b4 cny. but u might get some vouchers for tint, security lock etc.
i m getting NHC on 15th-16th jan also but i only manage to force my SA vomit rm800 only cause he said jan 2010 and b4 cny demand very high unless get it after cny then can get discount rm1200+.
for me i m getting locktech brake lock, security wheel nut, ecotint seamist 60 or raybarrier.

Bro, I also getting my Blackie City by tis weekend but too bad my SA said maybe tak sempat to settle all the registration thgs. I was like...WTF....dun tell me tis. I must get it by tis week.

Your SA will have a checklist that both of u need to go thru and signed off (if u want I want check it out for u later, but it not with me now). On top of that, pls check those fittings in the car, check anything loose, senget, in balance, not working, etc, etc (which is not part of the checklist). Any problem, ask the SC guy to rectify immediately before take delivery, if cannot resolved immediately due to no spare parts, claim warranty, make appointment to fix it (unless of course u willing to live with the defects until ur first service lah)

Discount, too late to ask, since u already book. Freebies, u can try, for my case, my freebies, those leftover gift from old promotions (such as umbrella, boot tray) and 2 key pewter chain with pre-printed dealer name. U may want to ask whether they got this promo or package for tints, etc, but, be warn, it does not necessary it cheaper if u DIY, I mean u survey outside ur own.

Added on January 12, 2010, 3:23 pmActually 2 days is more than enuf....my case, I settle all my payments on Sat, Monday morning the dealer go bank in my cheque and at sametime, go register my car with JPJ (assume that u oledi got car registration number ready and insurance ready), then, the Tuesday morning, my SA get the car registration card from JPJ, and by Tuesday late morning, I can go collect my car oledi.

Even if u yet to get ur car plate, u go early morning, go buy the number, depending on quee, transaction take less than 10 minutes, then, u call up ur insurance agent, give them ur car no, engine no, chasis no, model, colour, etc, then, fax them ur credit card authorisation form, they issue cover note, kautim, all done within half day.

u can stil claim, but u will have to pay a fee called excess (i cant recall what it is). If the name is listed in the insurance as the authorised driver then, you can claim without much hassle. Each additional named driver is just rm10 saja.

they will have to wait for a custom clearance form. Y custom when it is made locally? I got the same Q as well. But in fact they do have to wait for that because that form is needed to be attached together in order to register your car. Maybe you think my SA also BS me with this, but i get all the documents and register the car myself. So can confirm that I had that form. I made alot of noise because it takes so long to complete the whole process.

Oic, looks like so easy and fast but too bad my SA juz nw called me and said my car not yet arrive. I really fed up edi la...sienz! Last few days said edi arrive, nw said not yet arrive.
Later after work I will go find him, must scold him kao kao edi.

Thanks for update, now I know can claim, coz someone told me, if ur name not listed, u got to ask the person name registered go make police report. Very troublesome.

Easy to check, ask him to give u engine no, chasis no. If ur car in warehouse, sure no problem for him to copy down the no for u.

I've had my 4th generation Honda City VTEC for just over a year now (bout 11k km on the meter) and so far all's good no problems. Today while on a relatively long drive back home, I started playing with the 7-speed Mode thing on the steering wheel, something which I've never really tried out before. I noticed whenever I activated it, my acceleration would increase and I obviously could switch gears manually from 1 to 7. Most of the time I was on the highway so I kept it at 7.

Since my knowledge of automobiles is very very limited, I'd like to ask the experts here about this 7-speed mode and a few other things. Please pardon my noobishness and perhaps stupidity:

1.) S Gear - I'm not 100% on what S gear on the gearshift actually means. As far as I understand it's for more braking power when going downhill? What does S actually stand for anyway? There's some saying Sporty, Second, Slow, etc. I almost never use this gear. I saw a post saying this gear can be used alongside the 7 speed mode for acceleration control. If so, how exactly?

2.) L Gear - Stands for Low gear as far as I understand and I usually use this for a more power when climbing relatively steep slopes. Anything else about it I should know?

3.) 7-Speed Mode - Several questions about this one.
3a.) The Honda sales rep told me this is for "if you need more power climbing hills" but I get the feeling there's much more to it than that. I've heard using 7-speed effectively can increase fuel efficiency?
3b.) I've heard playing around with the 7-speed mode can severely damage the gearbox. Is this true?
3c.) What are the things I should be aware/careful of when using 7-speed mode?

4.) Any general tips & tricks regarding 7-speed mode would be very helpful

4.5G better don't play play. You trash your CVT tranny & you'll cry bro... BTW, CITY is a car which is not meant for high revving. New City uses SOHC i-VTEC which isn't meant for racing it's more for efficiency.

how come ur front no. plate style is different from usual.not 1 line but two.. ori no plate holder from honda?

Number plate can be requested to change from your SA. Some special type need to add some money, about RM50, some they can free for you actually.

The number plate already charged into the car price already, amount is RM50. You can refer to their price list, got 1 specific row, no plate, RM50. So, unless u request for change, your SA should not charge u any extra.

I got asked my SA b4, he said cannot deduct. If wan change to other type of font thn need to add more RM40. If like tis I better do outside la. Choose good quality and more nice font 1..those crystal like 1 JPJ not approve rite.
