BlackRa1n only supports a tethered jailbreak. Once jailbroken you should not allow your battery run out. Once your batt runs out, you will need to reconnect it to your computer and use BlackRa1n to boot. Also be reminded, do not reboot or shutdown your iPhone.

Q: What is tethered and untethered?
A: A tethered jailbreak means you cannot boot (turn on the iphone) without connecting it to a computer. Untethered means the iphone jailbreak is independent of computer, and it can boot all by its lonesome self.
There are no advantages to a tethered jailbreak, its just that when the developers release these applications, the tethered ones come first, then the untethered

Im on 3GS 3.1.3...so still have to wait for a proper JB?

Its better to avoid 3.1.3 since there iss no new features...

It is said to support 3.1.3 jailbreak in 3Gs

but when i tried to use it , iCSharpCode.Sharpziplib error came out..
anyone knows how to solve this problem?

i have jz buy a new iphone 3gs a few day before, and mine is 3.1.3...so if i wan to downgrade, is it possible? 3.1.2 can fully JB? pls let me know about it...

hello, my coll using a US version 1st generation of iphone 2G 16GB with the version 1.1.4, now he decided to upgrade it to latest firmware, his set was unlocked in US, he told me is software unlocked and the US guy told him if he upgraded the firmware the phone will be locked again. this is the reason why he dare not to upgrade for the past years. hehe

now he need to use Pwnagetool/Redsn0w to unlock he phone right? then only upgrade the firmware?

he needs pwnagetool to unlock the phone, you use pwnagetool to make a custom firmware and restore it

I have an iPhone 3GS OS 3.1.2 Build 7D11, jailbroken with Blackra1n. Now I want to restore my phone back to 3.1.2 but I get an error saying my device isn't eligible for the requested build. I know that this is because Apple have stopped signing 3.1.2 restores. But die die oso I want to restore back to 3.1.2 so it is easier to re-jailbreak it using Blackra1n again.

Is there any way for me to restore my phone back to 3.1.2? Please help. Thank you in advance. =)

if u are alredi jb, first check in cydia if u hv the SHSH file on saurik's server


then follow this guide n add the new host add...
u shud be able to restore..

hi, before we upgrade, he wanna keep his old SMS, but itunes cant backup SMS and he dont have the SSH in his iphone, any idea?
