The BlackRa1n jailbreak will work with the 3.1.2 firmware but not the latest 3.1.3 firmware.

Added on May 4, 2010, 9:05 pmIf you currently are using a tethered jailbreak, you have to restore to use Spirit. Do not upgrade if you use an unlock on an iPhone 3G or 3GS. (You can, however, restore to 3.1.2 if you have SHSH blobs for that version.)

If my fren is using iPhone 3Gs from Maxis, then it's no big deal rite?
