My iphone is singtel set which is officially unlock. If I jailbreak to 3.1.2 using blackrain, will My iphone unlock effected to locked to the carrier? Will my ipnoe become lock?

never interested in iphone so basically dont have any knowledge about this thing

however,my little brother want to bring back iphone 3g , currently using version 3.1.2 (dont know whats this), but the problem here that he says and i quote " no software to unlock 3.1.2 version yet"

so,is there anything can be done to unlock the phone so that it can be used here? btw it is a japan iphone

is it really safe to jailbreak my iphone using blackra1n..i bought the maxis iphone 3gs a month ago and i upgraded the OS to 3.1.2 using iTunes..can anyone give me the full process of doing it safely or if there is threads for professionals that could help me jailbreak it in lowyat cos im afraid that it will get bricked if i do it myself..how can i revive if it get bricked??

hi people. does blackrain last few steps (to unlock) need an active WiFi connection? or EDGE will be fine? and how much data is blackrain going to download to unlock the phone?

3.1.2 with latest bootroom its super suck....
last week i went to hk, and what happen my phone run out of battery

so when i reach hk hotel, start to recharge. OMFG it went into recovery mode...good job

so my life w/o my phone in hk for 1 week

now i decided to downgrade it into 3.0

at least free hassle...

its really stupid whenever u boot up u need blackra1n....

haih.. got any news to solve this stupid  bootroom. bcoz everytime u restart then need to JB again.. it was so headache

Ok I read the thread but don't really get all these tech stuff.Can someone break it down for me, cause I am an idiot:

1. If I buy officially unlocked 3.0 3GS and unlocked it using purplerain, can I upgrade to 3.1.2, without losing my JB? If I can, can anyone be oh-so-nice and point me where to download the approriate stuff to do that?

Pal, i believe u misunderstood what i meant from my previous statement so here i'm to clarify again, the 3.1.2 fw which comes with the new bootrom is the main culprit to all arising issues mentioned here. Therefore those with fw 3.1.2 which COMES WITH THE NEW BOOTROOM are adviced not to jb yet. That's what i meant. If there are any fw 3.1.2 which comes without the new bootroom existed then i beg your pardon for i wasn't aware of that point. Enlighten me then. Thanks for your 'clarification' although i don't need any though.

You are most welcome to share with the rest of any new and better ways to jb those with 3.1.2 without downgrading if any existed at the moment.

I recently update my iphone 3g 8gb to version 3.1.2 and successfully jailbreak it using blackra1n...
everyting works fine  ...it detects wifi, youtube and gps also working...
im using Maxis prepaid simcard...
the problem now, i cant get my 3g or even gprs or edge signal....

My iphone version....

Can anyone help  or give any suggestion on this matter....

Hmm i dont know about you guys but i would like to ask. Has anyone noticed that Maxis has extremely bad 3g service?. For example today, no one could call me in, but i could call out when i was on 3g. Then my friend said that he could not get my phone at all, and in front of me he called and it did not ring. So what i did was i opened up sbsettings and turned off 3g to Edge. Now it works perfectly and calls come in. But has anyone noticed anything like this? I dont know if its because of jailbreaking and it happends only once in a while.

If I'm not mistaken, all Singtel set are officially unlocked. So all you need to do is just JB. Using blackrain will do.

Hi guys. Just got my iphone 3gs on 3.1.2

Managed to JB using blackra1n but is it true i need to run it again everytime i reboot the phone to skip the recovery mode screen?

No way around this cumbersome method?

I have just unlocked and jailbroken my 3gs (3.1.2) with blackra!n.This worked fine, however when I started to dl apps from cydia, some worked, but when i tried to dl Backgrounder for 3.x and up, it installs then and then at the end of the scrolling text it asks me to "REBOOT" instead of "Return to Cydia". So when i click reboot, it locks up my phone and I have to restore and jail break it over again. it stuck at the USB connect to Itunes symbol. Can anyone help with this?
