after been so long, i plan to jb my iphone
i already dl blackrain n i suppose to plug my iphone into pc n make it rain
but if i jb it,all my data will gone/format?i just want install cydia inside

Guys, 1 question here

blackra1n does not hactivate your iPhone (fake activate it). So, in order to use this jailbreak you will need to have an iPhone on an official carrier.

Im using iphone 2G, which is not under Maxis package. So can I still use this method?

finally...i recall u saying tat u wudnt want to jb ur phone...but alas...temptation of the dark side is too strong...
u can just make it rain, it'll install a blackrain app, frm tat u can install cydia n u r done...
ur data wud nt be harmed...but u can choose to backup ur data, just to be safe..

yes u can my fren... u can continue using the phone as it was...
and right abt da 2nd point also... u want to continue jb ur phone in future, dun direct update fw as it is released,,

tht is bcoz i dropped my "beloved" so much n i just dropped again..my screen full of scratches but luckily only on screen protector...

another reason is i m aiming Google Nexus One so i feel like wan do more on my iphone

Cydia is more than enough.

*Nexus One is one helluva phone from Google. will see what Apple comes out with later in June.

wat is rock in blackrain so people say will lag other say is more clear de.. got any comment about it

rock is another alternative to cydia...
it got popular recently for its fast loading time...

So long as your iPhone is an officially unlocked unit, there is no problem in upgrading to the new OS/FW. But you have to jailbreak again after that.

i think u go restore and jb again should be fine.. it look like so weird..

looks like the last time i backup is after i jb..
i think there is some app i installed from cydia makes my setting looks messy

can share a screenshot?

i also not sure which app
once i jb, i install ibluetooth,terminal,openssh,winterboard,cycorder,backgrounder n clock hide

hmm..most of them will or can alter the system files...
try to restore, n install them one by one...
then maybe u can check which app is da culprit...

if i restore then all my apps will gone rite?
i already backup n trying to restore back the backup i made but after restored it still jb

or i dun restore from the backup i made?

after restore, any kind of jb app wud be gone frm ur device...so u'll hv to install them back after u jb ur phone...
