Just tried it this morning on my way to work, personally the new update is ok for me, the slight lag is not really an issue and the navigation works fine. Signal lock was within 5 seconds under a very cloudy sky.
As whether got bug or not, i m not sure but the fellas at maction will do something about it if there is. Meanwhile, ppg is ok for me. |

QUOTE(liverpool red @ Mar 25 2010, 09:27 PM) Yup missed on that one. since the official statement says nothing about map update.Added on March 26, 2010, 3:02 pm QUOTE(liverpool red @ Mar 26 2010, 09:20 AM) Just tried it this morning on my way to work, personally the new update is ok for me, the slight lag is not really an issue and the navigation works fine. Signal lock was within 5 seconds under a very cloudy sky. Navigation wise, it works ever since 6.1 is released. But considering this is the third release, one could only wonder why they still have trouble with UI lagginess. If this is on resistive screen I won't have any criticism. But on a capacitive screen? As whether got bug or not, i m not sure but the fellas at maction will do something about it if there is. Meanwhile, ppg is ok for me. Hi. I have a few questions regarding GPS apps on Iphone 3GS.
1. When GPS is navigating, when a call comes in, can I pick up the call, and when hang up resume back to the GPS navigation? 2.When the GPS app is on, can i go and make a phone call and back to the app? 3. If an sms comes in when GPS is navigating, can i goto check the sms and come back to continue the navigation? Cos as i have played around with some games on iphone, it doesn't seem to allow multitasking. It seems if i go do something else, then I'll have to start over again with the app i open... Thank you in advance for your feedback. Cheers. |

I have a few questions regarding GPS apps on Iphone 3GS. well bro you know that iphone dont support multitasking ...so definately the once call come in the app i think will be off and you need to restart it but the navigation route will be safe over the app..no need to navigate again...same goes to sms..and definately you cant make a call will navigating..it should be only one program working...1. When GPS is navigating, when a call comes in, can I pick up the call, and when hang up resume back to the GPS navigation? 2.When the GPS app is on, can i go and make a phone call and back to the app? 3. QUOTE(nyanko @ Mar 28 2010, 01:17 PM) Hi. I have a few questions regarding GPS apps on Iphone 3GS. First of all, multitask can only be found on Palm and winmo. 1. When GPS is navigating, when a call comes in, can I pick up the call, and when hang up resume back to the GPS navigation? 2.When the GPS app is on, can i go and make a phone call and back to the app? 3. Thank you in advance for your feedback. Cheers. Am not sure of the other GPS nav apps. But for PPG, when someone call, but you don't answer, the apps will resume back automatically showing your routing. But if you answer the call, the app will resume back automatically as well but showing the main menu. Still, your routing left intact and you just need to touch the navi button and you're good to go. And if you're the one doing the call, exited the app but as long as you have not stop the navigation, when you open back the navigation should be ok I guess. Basically, every other phone works this way, multitask or not. When somebody call, the call menu will appear but will resume back right after the conversation |

BTW, take a look at China Papago. It's completely different than the others. In fact it's called Papago X6.3
The best part is, the app comes with elevated road and tunnel simulation. The elevated road function is just like those found in PND. Supposedly will ease navigation a lot. ![]() ![]() QUOTE ◎FEATURES No sample image for the elevated view though-Intelligent Search Function -Simple, User Friendly Interface -Fast Route Calculation -Comprehensive Map Data -No need to Connect to Internet (Wi-Fi/3G) -Free and Fast Map Update ◎POWERFUL SOFTWARE FUUNCTIONS -Intelligent Search Function -Multi Navigation Mode: 2D/3D/Split Screen -Road Elevation Display -iFly Touch Screen Interface -Simulation Inside Tunnels -Portrait/Landscape Dual Mode Support -Auto Zooming the Map by Speed -Day and Night Mode for Display -Visual and Sound Alarm for Speed Camera -Built-in 3D Building -Built-in 3D Landmarks -Junction Views (realistic view of motorway interchanges and exits) |

Am not sure about the elevated road in Malaysian PPG cos has never seen one. Afterall, it's not stated officially by Maction, so I presume it's not available. Tunnel simulation clearly means simulation when driving through any tunnel. Since GPS satellite can't detect thru that thick tunnel, normal navigation apps will show your location at the early part of the tunnel only and freeze. It will only resume back once you've exited the tunnel. A long straight tunnel will may not benefited from this function. But with this simulation function it will help when you're driving in long tunnel like SMART with multiple exits inside the tunnel itself. |
