Looking for a 2.1 speaker combo within the range of 300 to 400 MYR. Mainly to watch movies and play games. I'm not a fan of deafening bass effects. Like clear sounds and hate excessive vibrations of "tin can" speakers. Unfortunately, I do not know where to start for this purchase. When I last looked at speakers, everyone was recommending the Altec Lansing ATP-3 :S (To give you an idea of how long ago that was).
Please help and thanks in advance.

Thanks for the suggestion. Since this seems important, I'll add that I'm using the onboard soundcard.

After some reading, I've decided to go for the Edifier S330. Just to double check, will it be okay to use it with my onboard soundcard? Not too sure where I should shop for it too but I guess Lowyat Plaza should offer competitive prices.

back to what the masters here always said, if you have the opportunity to visit the PC shops, go audition both speakers for yourself, and see which you prefer best, trust your ears (sound quality is always subjective)
