I'm not quite sure about the G550W but my fren is using the G500 and I gotta say that it's not that impressive, the Logitech Z5500 is more recommended, better sound than the creative I would say, but they said it gets overheat easily.

Yes, Logitech got the overheat prob.

The IC of M2300 using the heatsink at the back of the woofer to reduce the heat.

i think almost all multimedia speakers emit any heat when cranked up.. but as long as it's within the limit it should not destroy the subwoofer.

worst music ive ever have is "DJ Billy E - Beats 4 My Van". its heating the subwoofer real fast. due to the low frequency of course.

I guess you got 2 choice only

Logitech x540 and edifier r501 both about RM400
Last week I also got the same requirement as u.
End of I give up on the both speaker and get z2300 RM520.
This is due to sound stage reason. Instead of getting a normal surround set, is more enjoyable to have a Cinema Level 2.1 for gaming and movie.

Anyway , z5500 RM1400 or above speaker is the only card you pair up with your sound card. Else you will waste money on it.
I suggest you to sell your sound card, top up your budget for speaker. Buy a second hand audigy2 zs or use a good on board sound.

No such law.

I owned z-5500D and yes it sound better with upgrade sound card.

It does work also on z2300 due to the source quality is better.

If the source is crap it will sound crap at any speaker laaaa.

If the source is good it will sound better even on low end speaker la.

He means ask u to invest more on your speaker and less on your sound card. To me i disagree la sound card do makes a difference

I know sound card is important.
But with his current budget, he can't get a decent speaker.
My point is to ask him invest more on speaker.
Adjust a balance of ratio between speaker and sound card

Haha, common sense tells that if you get a better soundcard, of coz it will sound better than normal onboard soundcard obviously.
