Woofer got stand? Cant imagine which stand can handle the vibrations from a woofer.

Just got myself a Logitech's X540 (waiting for it to arrive). Currently using on board audio Realtek ALC1200 8 channel HD on Asus P5Q Pro. (games,movies & music)

Since I am living in a place where auditioning is out of the question, I have few questions to ask the knowledgeable in this topic.

1. Lets say if i were to get myself a sound card, will it improve the surround experience?

2. Will tweaking the setting of the on board be enough instead of getting a sound card?

3. If getting a sound card would be better, any recommendations? (budget <RM350)

1.YES! OBVIOUSLY
2.tweaking is not enough. if source is bad,no matter how good your speakers are it'll still sound bad. so get a soundcard.
3.I don't know what to recommend

I only have z2300. Very powerful system but too bassy for movies. Sounds great for songs and games.

juz tested mx5021... bass too strong,turned me into basshead...

so left s330 and c3..i guess

c3 will sure lose if you are crazy of bass
left mx5021 and s330

but I think you'll choose logitech z-2300 because it has the strongest bass in your list

i dun wan strong bass.. used for movie.. slight boom is enuf.. mostly is clarity.. like can listen to conversation in the movie while having a bass..

seems like many ppl discussing about z2300

previously i'm using altec lansing ACS45.1

after it spoiled i upgrade to z2300, but it total disappointed me.
satelite is ok but the woofer bass is too boomy & loose. so so so disappointed

conclusion : b4 u buy speaker better audit properly & compare few more option.

Yes always audit and logi subs are always boomy. Altec old models are far better than the new ones too.

Yeah, new Altecs doesnt sound as good as the old ones. I bought Altec Lansing VS3251 confidently because their AC45.1 was so awesome but it was crappy. When crank up abit, the woofer starts to struggle. Had it for few weeks, sold it and bought Z2300. I love boomy bass, hehe!

I agree with enzo520, make sure you demo first before buying, dont trust online or magazine reviews only.
