Hi, just to ask if anyone has encountered this (the thread is too long, don't know what words to search with!):

When I am using the X5 routing to guide me, sometimes the app will seem to get "confused" and the icon for my car will fly around the map for a few seconds before settling back to the correct route. And sometimes it hops to the parallel road instead of the correct one.

I am using X5 with Galaxy S. Anyone can help with this?

Yeah, happened before on my HTC Magic also, it might have to do with bad GPS signals, and papago constantly trying to snap the car into a road.

This is where I got mine. It is the trial version.

http://www.papago.com.tw/android/Download/...all_SGMY_X5.htm

This installation comes with the MFM map as well, not sure how recent. been using it so far, finding it good.

The only complain is the GPS has to repeat the same thing three times...

"Be prepare to stay on the right lane"

10 seconds later...

"In 300 meters please stay on the right lane"

10 seconds later...

"In the next intersection please stay on the right lane"

Or something like that.........

Hi Bro,

Thanks for the link you provided. But is the software is free? Or it is a trial version?

I used papago M7 and am using X5 now on my Desire with android 2.2, both works well.

Make sure you are in an area with clear view of sky and you will able to get GPS signal quickly, usually few seconds to 1 minute. It usually wont get GPS signal if you are inside a building.

Hi Bryan,

It's an issue with Galaxy S. Samsung vowed to fix this by end of September.

M7 is Taiwan version, the version i used was modified with MFM maps. X5 is officially Malaysia version, UI is nicer and map icon is fixed compared to M7 which had the wrong map icons (Eg petrol station with a Starbucks logo etc)

Nope, mine is not genuine, however I will not talk abt the *ahem* version here. If you wan to buy 1, I strongly recommend X5, but bear in mind there might be a weird *clap* sound at the end of each navigation sound if u use on Desire with android 2.2. You need to confirm this with the seller before you buy.

Contact M3Asia.

Be aware that Papago X5 may not work too well with Froyo (Android 2.2), so you may have issues if you upgrade to that in the near future.

The Beta v1.0 does not support Android Papago X5. The previous release in April still a good one.

Hey I just downloaded Papago X5, and when it starts, it has this IMEI and CODE thing. So what do I enter in the CODE section? Or do I just go trial?

You can use the trial version for a few weeks before buying.

+1

You have just addressed almost about everything i want to say about X5 on my phone as well. Been wondering if this is the hardware issue or due to the software being incompetent to keep up with the raw GPS data. Flying around is fine, but settling down on parallel road is driving me mad. It seems that it just can't catch up with my vehicle when on the move.

You have to pay M3ASIA and then they will tell you what to put in the CODE section. smile.gif
