I used papago M7 and am using X5 now on my Desire with android 2.2, both works well.

Make sure you are in an area with clear view of sky and you will able to get GPS signal quickly, usually few seconds to 1 minute. It usually wont get GPS signal if you are inside a building.

did you turn on your GPS in the first place? The build in GPS is like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, you need to turn it on before the Navigation software can use it.

As an alternative , use the free Google Maps BRUT version 14. It is excellent and has voice navigation. I particularly like the direction instructions which appear on top.

Now version 16 liao lor! haha

Yeah I am using google maps brut also, got good got bad compared to papago. I especially like how I can store the address in the contacts there, and straight away navigate from it, instead of saving as location in papago and have to remember to backup/restore.

Are you able to search a location and get the matched results? If yes, meaning the software is working.

GPS signal failure could be various reasons. Are you on an rooted phone?

Is there anyway to make the Papago voice urm... speak less? I am coming from Garmin and I finding Papago to be very distracting in the sense that it has to tell you something 2-3 times... >.<

The small pic u mentioned is the Junction View, appears when you are reaching junctions (Some junctions only, not all)

I have the same problem on clap sounds except Cantonese, people suggesting to re-encode the sound files, but I have no idea how to do so as I dont find any media converter that supports gwv format.

This is where I got mine. It is the trial version.

http://www.papago.com.tw/android/Download/...all_SGMY_X5.htm

This installation comes with the MFM map as well, not sure how recent. been using it so far, finding it good.

The only complain is the GPS has to repeat the same thing three times...

"Be prepare to stay on the right lane"

10 seconds later...

"In 300 meters please stay on the right lane"

10 seconds later...

"In the next intersection please stay on the right lane"

Or something like that.........
