I faced this problem before when I just flashed my Desire to custom Froyo ROM.

2 possibilities:
1) Something wrong with your SD card. Try fix the error by mounting SD card to a computer as Disk Drive. Right click your SD drive, goto Properties, Run Scandisk under tools tab, Start it with Auto fix on.

2) Reinstall the Papago X5 and copy again the NAVISea folder from source to SD card.

Hi,
Am using the Papago X5 on HTC Desire running Android 2.2 and notice that the navigation voice prompt has a *clap* sound after each sentence, e.g. turn left *clap* then turn right *clap*. It was not there when running Android2.1.
Is the X5 not fully support Android2.2 yet?

The PapagoX5 sounds file on mine are all gwv format. I tried rename them to wav but no sounds. Now renamed back to gwv the sounds *clap* is back

Yea, i wanted to do that. But I goggled around and did not find any converter that can convert gwv to wav, or vice versa. So renamed the files instead.

GPS locking will be much faster when you are in a place where you have a clear view of sky, usually few seconds to 1 min.

I used papago M7 and am using X5 now on my Desire with android 2.2, both works well.

Make sure you are in an area with clear view of sky and you will able to get GPS signal quickly, usually few seconds to 1 minute. It usually wont get GPS signal if you are inside a building.

Are you able to search a location and get the matched results? If yes, meaning the software is working.

GPS signal failure could be various reasons. Are you on an rooted phone?

The small pic u mentioned is the Junction View, appears when you are reaching junctions (Some junctions only, not all)

I have the same problem on clap sounds except Cantonese, people suggesting to re-encode the sound files, but I have no idea how to do so as I dont find any media converter that supports gwv format.

No, papago runs by using GPS only.

Map icon is a "known issue" on M7, it is fine on X5.

M7 is Taiwan version, the version i used was modified with MFM maps. X5 is officially Malaysia version, UI is nicer and map icon is fixed compared to M7 which had the wrong map icons (Eg petrol station with a Starbucks logo etc)

Nope, mine is not genuine, however I will not talk abt the *ahem* version here. If you wan to buy 1, I strongly recommend X5, but bear in mind there might be a weird *clap* sound at the end of each navigation sound if u use on Desire with android 2.2. You need to confirm this with the seller before you buy.

This question has been asked several times before, seems like many people get confused when they start Papago and the map is not moving.

When you see there is a satellite icon on the top right flashing, it means the phone is trying to look for GPS signal and locking down ur location.
You need to be in an open space to get GPS signal only then the map navigation works.

It wont work when you are inside a building.

Papago only works with GPS, there is no option to run on WIFI/3G.

Are you on custom ROM? I had this problem before and flashed another ROM solved the problem.

The GPS problem could be a ROM issue, radio related.
