I am one of lucky guy who don't have problem with GPS on Galaxy S. I have tried Papago X5 (hacked one) which now I had removed. Just want to feel and compare with previously Garmin Mobile XT on my Omnia II. The result is I am very satisfied with Papago X5 and I for sure will buy it when it officially support Froyo.

1) The POI search is snappy fast. Garmin way behind where it searching by levels of radius.
2) The reroute is again snappy fast. Same like brut google navigation. Not like Garmin.. recalculating....... then got new road.
3) The accuracy is much better than Garmin. On Garmin I always missed my turn.
4) I never experience lost satelite signal when I am on open road or under flyover.
5) For your #3, i think because you press phone back instead of the software back.
6) Garmin Mobile XT got multitouch and compass??? emm... I never know it exist  hmm.gif

Thank for the reply.

1) POI search is fast .. .Agree... Garmin suck on this
2) Still never reroute. I am riding with phone in the pocket. Just depending on the voice navigation. I need to keep stopping making sure it locking to satelite
3) Garmin accuracy better for me. Maybe Galaxy S issue(will install GPS fix soon). Using TYTN2 for garmin
4) Again could be GPS issue
5) I left the phone on phone mount while driving. It suddenly become background process. sad.gif . Thus very unreliable when riding.
6) Let hope papago come out with it on X8 ? X6 and X7 I heard dun have multi touch

for number 5) maybe is cause by one of your apps? i also use galaxy s, to be honest i never yet use it for long distance, a few times i use it to route me for a distance around 25km, at highway and normal road with many turns, it never go background automaticly..

for problem number 2) if at car mount also never reroute?

and do you already update your map to MFM 100415?

When it is empty, it means no match. Unlike google map papago does not support address search, ie do not key in the house no just the road name and everything will be fine. By the way I am not on froyo but 2.1. I think the papago froyo version is not out yet that is why u cannot search.

I faced this problem before when I just flashed my Desire to custom Froyo ROM.

2 possibilities:
1) Something wrong with your SD card. Try fix the error by mounting SD card to a computer as Disk Drive. Right click your SD drive, goto Properties, Run Scandisk under tools tab, Start it with Auto fix on.

2) Reinstall the Papago X5 and copy again the NAVISea folder from source to SD card.

request direct via maction or m3 would be appropriate.

Hi,
Am using the Papago X5 on HTC Desire running Android 2.2 and notice that the navigation voice prompt has a *clap* sound after each sentence, e.g. turn left *clap* then turn right *clap*. It was not there when running Android2.1.
Is the X5 not fully support Android2.2 yet?

Please advice. Thanks smile.gif
