Nope. Can't be done. I don't think it can be done for most phones nowadays. I know a while back, quite a while back that is, you could. But not anymore.

Actually there is a method but i don't know if it will work with HD2.

First plug in the charge/usb cable with the phone on. It should show charging, then you remove the battery. If you are lucky the phone remains on without battery. I know this work with the HD.

I bear no responsibility for any damage caused.

no, i mean i want to use the power/charger cable to power on the hd2.
same as your laptop... you take out the battery and power on it by using the power supply.

anyone tried before?

i dun think that it is a very good idea where u take out the battery and use the AC supply to power your phone, it damages your phone if i am not mistaken, i get what u mean and i tried that on the HP iPaq 612c last time. I think it is because that the current going directly to your phone is kinda excessive and with the battery, it acts like a resister and lower the current into the device.

depends on what do u need and what do u usually do.. for the SMS problem, there's a solution which u install a cab file to disable HTC msg and use the original WM 6.5 threaded SMS which won't cost the lag.

Not true. The battery is one of the most sensitive part, voltage needs to be maintained within specs or it will damage or burst into flame. Current regulating done by IC onboard, not just resistors.

just did some field testing with this.

VERDICT: not bad. pretty speedy.SENSE 2.5 was faster on HD2, it could be cuz my TP2 was running a PORT, or because HD2 had a faster processor. hard to tell. but gaming wise there was hardly any difference, since the only games that could be tested on WVGA already run full speed on Touch Pro 2. Things remain to be seen with FPSECE though

CONS: cant fit my palm. felt like always gonna fall off.
the back cover, like, erm, i dunno, i always preferred rubberised plastic and i was always worried of scratching the HD2
Absolutely HATED the fact that the camera juts out. guarantee the finish will scratch out in time.

For those whom are still waiting for the HD2

UPSIDE

1.Many unresolved issues, eg pinkish screen, sms not sent, task manager, slow SENSE etc etc
2.To rectify the current issues you probably need to flash new ROM and reconfigure your device again, eg email settings, contacts etc etc
3. Dutty is now cooking a ROM for HD2, which will be more superior than the stock ROM as usual

DOWNSIDE

Can't play with this BEAST, which out weight all the above cry.gif
