sifu not talking about the preinstall software. am talking other windows mobile software that makes this htc hd2 even better like resco explorer so that can manage files and data easily.etc....  can someone list out besides preintall htc hd2 application  what other application can enhance this htc hd2 to make it even better.thanks

Most of the HTC HD tweaks and tips are still applicable. However you need to be careful with the registry tweak, which most probably will be different.

Suggest you start a new thread v2. Such updating is a bit unorganized and difficult to track. I hope my "No Stock" retailer will have their stock next week. Saving about RM100 to 200+ but the suspense is quite intense. wink.gif

Hmm...noticed there's no vibration nor ringtone when I receive a new text message, tried turning it on and off and a soft reset but still no notification

I read somewhere that you need to do a registry edit to enable sound notification for new incoming sms.

The battery needs to be charged/discharged several times before it can perform optimally.

HD2 is really support WiFi 802.11N  :-)
Touch_X_Wireless_Draft_N_ON.cab - Enables Draft N in WiFi to get faster WiFi connection (rapidshare link)

I was reported by few users in XDA that this tweak not only DOES NOT increase the wifi speed it also make the wifi connection unstable. If you have configured your wifi to 802.11 n, please share whether what is reported in XDA is true.

thanks for the info man... actually was going crazy over this phone for the past 2 weeks, but convinced myself that i should be happy enough with my iphone... even uninstalled winterboard so i could "believe" my puny iphone 3G was as fast as a snapdragon O_o

went to PDA Expert last on Friday and played with a demo unit...  instantly made the decision to get one and i don't think can wait another 2 weeks for the next batch to play with it. The screen, oh the screen..........

any link provide so i could configure to 802.11N?? the link earlier post by alfredtwl has been removed, i still like the android tethering function really stable and fast.

Try this. I can't recall where I read that 802.11n is an unstable wifi connection foe HD2.

EDIT: This is the site stating connection problems

Why do you all need to apply a screen protector onto the HD2. Reduce screen sensitivity or just to protect the screen? If it is to protect the screen, save your $$$$ and watch THIS. shocking.gif

it is for precaution, you would never know when would u scratch your screen, once it is scratched, that's it, no replacement unless u pay.
it is like buying an insurance, so for about RM10 for an insurance i think that is a very good deal

Did you watch the video? What can possibly scratch the screen of this BEAST? Diamond or tungsten carbide would do harm but not others brows.gif

The official shipped ROMs for various countries are listed HERE and can be downloaded but unfortunately cannot be used as there is no SPL available yet.

I don't think anyone can give you a good and satisfying answer here. If you were to look thro the postings at forum.xda HD2 section, there are  criticisms, praises and neutral opinions. Battery life is also compounded by  other installed software which will affect it ( especially software with auto updates builtin , unless you disable it )

For me, the battery can reasonably last me a normal day use ( 7 am till 9 pm ) and that is according to my needs which is definately different from anyone else. My phone I used a lot on checking Tweeter updates ( I set auto every 30 mins), RSS news feed checking ( do that every 2  hours) ,  email - every hour check, browsing - not so much , maybe about an hour most use it , phonecalls /SMS ( total about 20 a day ) ,  ebook reading - average about an  hour/day, and my weather update is set every 3 hours.

But I do notice if on the road while using GPS Garmin/or Mapking the battery drops fast but is not a issue as in car my unit is being charge while on the road
*
With all these activities and the battery lasting from 7am to 9pm, I would say it is good battery life biggrin.gif

just did some field testing with this.

VERDICT: not bad. pretty speedy.SENSE 2.5 was faster on HD2, it could be cuz my TP2 was running a PORT, or because HD2 had a faster processor. hard to tell. but gaming wise there was hardly any difference, since the only games that could be tested on WVGA already run full speed on Touch Pro 2. Things remain to be seen with FPSECE though

The is now a patch for the driver which makes SENSE and games perform faster. rclxms.gif
