i see lots of people are getting this. i dunno, i'm just turned off by the size and battery. u guys shud check out Acer F1 as well. just the acer customer support....well, they're new. i'm for one am waiting for qwerty with snapdragon and at least 1500mah. give a killer proc with weak battery are u insane?

Acer F1 is launching next week, great specs and comparable to HD 2 and i heard the price is around 2k only.

well said well said. either way i'm probably staying away from both, until there's a front cam, a smaller screen (HD2 wont fit in my pocket) and maybe qwerty. or something which the SNAPDRAGON can really show off with. from what i see with PS games for example, the difference is sort of negligible. yea there's improvements, but nothing to really make me go gaga yet.

i'm afraid if next year there's an iphone with front cam, the SNAPDRAGON may be too little, too late. but i'll wait and see.

i probably wanna do some FPS test between the SNAPDRAGON and QUAKE 3. lol, so when anyone here buys the device can we maybe meet up to do some field tests? haha

UPDATE ON POTENTIAL BUYERS: Be aware that HD 2 still has OPEN GL ES issue. which means if u were expecting a huge jump in gaming capabilities from Touch Pro 2 / Touch HD to HD2, you're going to be sorely disappointed

XDA is currently working on hacking the TG01 drivers to port it to HD2.

(that said it will perform better anyway thanks to 1GHz. but for hardcore gamers, quake 3? i doubt it. will wait for drivers and see)

Also be aware the "multitouch" is not much of a multitouch, only works for picture viewing. which means if u were expecting to play games using virtual keypad multitouch, again, it DOESNT work!

the sms issue may be operator related (meaning related to bandwidth) so malaysians MAY NOT have that issue

Yes a lot of operators are having this issue. but not EVERY operator appears to be having it. Which leads to my hypothesis that its bandwidth related.

And bandwidth reception is handled by the PHONE's rom and radio rom.

which mean it isnt a HARDWARE issue.

We can expect a fix for it in the near future. Because ROMS and RADIO ROMS can be FLASHED.

So did i say its network issue anywhere? no. i said its bandwidth, meaning the phone's rom's ability to handle certain bandwidths. So yes my entire post is saying it IS the phone's problem. SOFTWARE, not HARDWARE.

Oh and threaded messaging has been around in windows mobile since TWO YEARS ago. The problem lies not in threaded messaging but in some of the kernels for windows mobile 6.5. which can be EASILY fixed. Just gotta wait it out, or if u dun want to, flash a cook rom. Matter of fact the fix is ALREADY out regarding threaded sms lag, but these fixes have not been incorporated yet in OFFICIAL 6.5 roms.

lol, i dun understand the hype bout pinch to zoom. almost all iphone users say, while its cool, its actually not that practical and it gets tiresome. i would personally stick with slide to zoom lol.

but i would definitely wanna see multitouch used for gaming

but for now multitouch is very very limited only to certain programs. u'll have to wait for windows mobile 7 for full functionality

i never ever ever trust seller's comments and reviews. they're sellers. not hardcore users like us. u can tell em the problem but they may not give an unbiased or proper review because they simply may not understand or done the correct testing. lol.

just did some field testing with this.

VERDICT: not bad. pretty speedy.SENSE 2.5 was faster on HD2, it could be cuz my TP2 was running a PORT, or because HD2 had a faster processor. hard to tell. but gaming wise there was hardly any difference, since the only games that could be tested on WVGA already run full speed on Touch Pro 2. Things remain to be seen with FPSECE though

CONS: cant fit my palm. felt like always gonna fall off.
the back cover, like, erm, i dunno, i always preferred rubberised plastic and i was always worried of scratching the HD2
Absolutely HATED the fact that the camera juts out. guarantee the finish will scratch out in time.

he's running SENSE 2.5, not HD2 rom. there is a HUGE difference. flashing roms meant for different devices on your device can PERMANENTLY DAMAGE your PDA, and all u have left is a very expensive paper weight. he's probably using the same base windows mobile kernel and the same application files but u cannot just take any rom from another device and straight flash on your own.

and its no surprise he can run SENSE 2.5. windows mobile is versatile u can port things here and there quite easily. SENSE 2.5 has already been ported to all the older windows mobile devices as well. heck been using SENSE 2.5 BEFORE HD2 was launched here in my Touch Pro 2 lol

full version still in development. thats like a preview. try normal mode more challenging. hmmm but even normal mode the AI is flawed. there is a pattern, and i mastered it like after 15 minutes. can never lose lol.
