about where i expected it i guess..

maybe the person just quoting the price of tp2, guessing that hd2 night not be more expensive than that. tongue.gif
anyway, if its more than 3k, i'd settle for the omnia2 instead, has its own advantage over hd2 also.

why omnia 2? the only thing better is the screen.. OLED vs LED? other then that.. i don't see much advantage. How can you say no to snapdragon + capacitive screen? tongue.gif

Anyway.. last i check TP2 price has dropped quite a fair bit (below 3k i think) so i don't think 3299 is TP2 price.

How much cheaper would it get? can it go below at the fair?

Someone here mentioned he was one of the staff members at one of the booths that sold HTC Products. maybe he can give us a better idea.

the tp2 launch price was around 3.2k, no doubt it has dropped since then.

the hd2 and omnia2 have different advantages:

hd2
-4.3inch capacitive multitouch screen
-1ghz snap dragon, more ram
-'nicer' sense UI

omnia2
- vibrant AMOLED screen
- better battery life (bcos bigger battery and enery saving oled)
- cheaper.

some might think the capacitive screen is great and really it is, but when sometimes you (unfortunately) have to use winmo interface which has not been skinned by HTC, interface will have small and near button, checkbox, list, etc. good luck touching that with your fat finger on a capacitive screen.

and of course you can use multitouch to zoom that window to make the buttons bigger, but that means u perform more finger actions to do the same thing that can be done if compared to resistive screen and stylus.

major parts of the interface are bigger, but there are still minor areas.
not a big problem most of the time, but of course u'd wish it could be better.

eg : watch the 'movie' at 27:40. the drop down list, he selected wrong the first time.

well, installing and using files from a developer forum would get lots of different reaction, depending on how much of a techie you are. not everyone is comfortable with it or would bother.

I think the reviewer has issues with WM6.5 more then the phone itself.. that being said, sure WM6.5 wasn't that big a jump from 6.1 or 6.0..

but then, better then nothing smile.gif

Can't wait for 7.0 though

some ppl just hate winmo cos nth much has changed for a very long time, even wm6.5 is mostly just reskinning.
the main apps like calendar, media player are still old and not the best apps which you can use for touch compared to today's standards.

android 2.0 is getting a lot of attention because it is new and it's been backed by google, who provides most of our internet content nowdays.
the only reason i'm still rooting for winmo is because i wanna use my garmin mxt.

True true. Windows is always slower in making the latest changes.. like IE vs FF and such, same thing.

I've heard people trying to put Android 2.0 on HD2 though, not sure if it'll workout
