Actually its more like due to overwhelming complaints since the first 4M was gone even before end of dec 09 tongue.gif but its good news to those Amex CC holders who would otherwise be very disappointment rclxm9.gif

My idea....The extension may just for those who spend in Jan 2010.... So if you decide to spend in Feb, beware you may not get the 15%

@Gen-X,
Thanks for the long explanation but I guess I'll just pretend I don't know about the extra 0.5% rebate from the Turbo programme! Haf decided to reduce spending *grins* since I just bought a new property plus am still unemployed! *gulp*

@guanteik,

@guanteik,
Cheh! In that case no need for my long-winded explanation tongue.gif

@nagflar,
Shouldn't be a problem save for Petronas where u'll need to go into the counter to make payment.

In fact, early last month I was informed by an Amex CS officer that Amex might consider to top up the cash back as a rebate amounting to RM2mil had already been hit in November. And now, it is an official news. I am happy that I will be getting another RM150 for my expenses in January.

Not all petronas stations accept Amex, even though you swipe it inside the counter. Only those petronas stations displacing amex logo at entrance accept Amex in the counter.

haha , i think a few forummer here manage to get their waiver on AMEX Plat CC earlier than me  brows.gif  , my circumstances is similar with Tinkerbel , i called CS for waiver and they forward it to management and 2 days later the person in charge called me back and quoting " congratulation MR. xx , your request for waiver has been approved "  , before i hang the call , i manage to get some info regarding my waiver and she said , it was based on your total spending for the year , but she never mention how much is the min to qualified .   hmm.gif

@Reventon, received officially confirmation from big gun in Miaubank CC department regarding this. thumbup.gif
Spend min 40K per month, you will be consider to be invited to platnium class. Spend 60k p/a (5k a month) your AF waiver is almost possible. However, spending pattern are taken to consider. Example, if you spend 60k in first 2 month, and the remaining 10 month are "silent" from any transaction, there is high chance you cannot get the AF waived. If you spend 60K randomly throughout the year, then the chances are high..

Dear all,

Just want to share my experience trying to redeem my MR for Frequent Flyer / Frequent Guest programs.

I have AMEX Gold Credit Card. When I called the CS, they said that Credit Card will NOT be eligible to redeem points such as Starwood, Hiltonhonors, etc. Reason? Maybank still haven't set up the "facility" for this type of redemption.

If you have AMEX Charge Card, then yes, you can redeem for frequent flier / guest points as usual.

I found this to be shocking after spending my purchases mostly to AMEX credit card only to find this issue yesterday. I even talked to the supervisor on the phone and she could only apologised for the problem.

I told her I might just write to AMEX HQ (in USA, I assume) regarding the silly things Maybank is doing to their brand.

Anyone else has the same issue?
