DAMN it! I have been calling AMEX hotline like MAD DOG since morning. NEITHER Gold nor Plat hotline CS officer answers my calls. BAD EVER service I have encountered from Amex so far.

Maybe all their staff are given 15-Days CNY long holiday! They probably will only back after Chap Gor Meh!!

just noticed on their website...if apply now, the rm50 GST will be charged in my 1st statement......

Try calling during work time from 8-5pm. After that, chances of CS picking up your call is minimal..

Latest update, I received an AMEX green charge card in which I never applied for, except for the AMEX Plat credit card. I tried calling the hotline, but to no avail. I planned to complain on this. Please advise the best method to do it, guys. Thanks.

How soon does it take for MR conversion to RM to reflect on the M2U Amex account ?

I called Amex 6 times on Friday, from 10am onwards. It was during working hours and working day.


Amex Plat and Gold hotlines were dead yesterday. Not responsive at all. The fastest way is to cancel the card over the phone. Or else, you may go to any MBB branch to handover the card to MBB. You can also send your request via fax, but you can somehow expect undelivery excuse.


For me, it took about a week only.

Those MR points can be combined, so long as they are under the same MR system.

Just handed the card for cancellation at MBB card centre in 1U. Really disappointed with MBB card centre/agent on this. Apply AMEX Plat credit card, but comes AMEX basic charge card. At first feel like making a hoo-hah about this at 1U there but the officers also seemed very blur, so I feel scold them also waste breath & null a sin on seventh day CNY.

I recommend you not to combine your points. Instead, before you terminate your charge card, redeem all your points from that card. Read some post made by me earlier on the 'extra' TP which Maybank claimed they have 'wrongly' given to me..

Is it the 5X MR Points no longer available?
Did some transaction on Petrol & Tesco, the MR points is only 3X.
Eg: RM325.15 spent at Tesco, in monthly statement is 975

That is correct. The points are split up. If you look at your statement

MR Points earned = 1X

Amex Bonus Points = 1X

TESCO - 3X

So total is 5 x points

how do we know if the merchant accept AMEX?

because i go pay my apartment bill just now, the reception girl dont know it.. she even asked me back, tak sama dengan visa/master kah?

tested, the transaction done successfully

Usually the merchant will display a logo on the door/cashier desk.

The brutal way is to swipe at the terminal itself. If the terminal does not support AMEX, your transaction won't be able to go through.

Thus far, I have not seen any property developers or property management companies including those newly completed high-end condominiums around KLCC accept Amex. Some big corporations accept MC and VISA, and this is considered good enough for buyers and tenants.
