Not all MBB Merchant accept AMEX because it depends on the merchant request for AMEX acceptance because of high fee imposed 4% - 5%. Even the machine can swipe AMEX , most of the time they will ask you for Visa/Master, some even lying doesn't accept AMEX

looks like platinum series credit card will be target on mass market soon like singapore. Better off collecting some classic card as they will be soon wiped off market since everyone is holding gold and platinum , and the exclusiveness will goes to classic in very near future

no i dont think so , Machines has been removed from plat partners since early this year IIRC.

haha , i think a few forummer here manage to get their waiver on AMEX Plat CC earlier than me , my circumstances is similar with Tinkerbel , i called CS for waiver and they forward it to management and 2 days later the person in charge called me back and quoting " congratulation MR. xx , your request for waiver has been approved " , before i hang the call , i manage to get some info regarding my waiver and she said , it was based on your total spending for the year , but she never mention how much is the min to qualified .

Spend 40k per month consider to be invited to platinum class ? What you mean actually ? Amex Plat CC is my primary card since the day i got it except the merchant doesn't accept it.

i received the statement and surprised that CIMB charged me service tax previous month as my expiry is on dec , supposed i will be charged tax on 2010 dec , and i give a call to cimb , they say tax was imposed on my anniversary , which fall on jan , and not the expiry month embossed on my card.. damn , anyone here get the tax similar to my case? they clarified that tax is fall on the month my card was approved , and not the expiry month..

Got my second Longines Watch with AMEX today , i thought AMEX will give me a Delsey Expandable Cabin Case instead of Longines Watch. Anyway thats a free one , who cares

I am not sure whether the winner list is out yet or not but I've got my 2nd longines watch delivered to my doorstep yesterday. The letter wrote I win on the month of Oct 09 . I thought they will give me delsey cabin bag as I've win the watch before, heheh. This time with the price tag attached there RM 2350..

I have mine waived , from the info i gather from MBB CS about the waiver , they are mainly target on the card usage for the year. The amound should be something like 80k per annum , that was the rough figure they told me , not an actual , but suppose it was somewhere there. , good luck

It's all about business here with bank , probably if you're one of super huge abuser of card which swipe few hundred k to few M / annum , MBB will definitely waive the AF for Plat Charge Card , but for 12 swipe / year , chances are rare

i got my second longines watch from AMEX too , but that was around feb they courier the watch to me , how come yours is so late

mine has been free after the 1st year of using it , now entering the 3rd years , each time just a call away to waive it thru CS , i got mine waived because of usage of the card, tht was info from CS

Call up and ask for waiver , should be no problem for this card la. My auto waived after 1 year
