regarding the 15% cashback as stated rm150 per person per mth rebate.

meaning if i purchase a bill of rm3k only entitle to maximum rm150?
*
Do also be aware, there is only RM4 mil to be distributed, so if 300K Amex members utilised their cards that way, a whopping RM45 mil will be required. Thus Amex is only targetting around 30K members to utilise their entitlement, so its better do it asap ;-)

ya, i totally agree to what u said. suppose i should purchase my cosmetics at free duty airport but due to the 15% cash back and now i purchased klcc isetan smile.gif really tempted but too bad the limit only rm150 per mth
*
Actually, since its probably just going to last a month, if say, 10% of their cardmembers utilises it, suggest you all do your shopping asap, unless Amex cap it to RM1 mil cashback per month, which will probably last for abt a week for each month hmm.gif

So way I see it, can get yr cashback within Nov/Dec and "potong" come Jan 2010 tongue.gif

@winner,
Assuming I'm getting great service, I really don't mind the RM50 but Y should I pay and get crap service?

I've no idea what you're talking re XXX & VLC.  Some times purchases just can't be planned; besides the bulk of it wasn't spent at an eligible outlet.

PS: Maybe my CL is RM1k !! tongue.gif

@vin_ann,
Er.. sales are here all the time; apa mau beli?

I'm aiming to redeem that Tag Heuer watch before I cancel any of my Amex cards though.  Hopefully I be able to achieve it by Dec 2009.
*
Erh, why the heck did you reduce yr CL to RM1K? But on a separate note, I will definitely be cutting close to 40 cards and having to retain about 4 cards due to IFPP on them as the terms are will need to pay penalty on early settlement sad.gif

In the near future, guess will just hold on to 2 CCs namely HSBC & SCB only. Now I would love to see the face on the stupid govt when their so called budgeted income of RM500M dwindled to just RM200M come Jan or hopefully even less. Plus if everyone can reign in their spending, retailers will post lower profits, so guess who screws up ultimately hmm.gif

Oh yes, since this is an Amex thread, my Amex is gone come Jan 2010 rclxm9.gif though I wonder when they will post in the RM150 rebate? Guess we cancel and leave out RM150 as balance??? thumbup.gif

Amex charge card suits you best as there is limitless spending and you don't need to keep begging Amex increasing your CL!

@winner,
The thing is I prefer accumulating points on me Amex rather than on Visa/MC.  I was however fortunate in a sense that when I made that swipe for that property at Ara Hill on behalf of sis, it was my birthday month and SCB was offering a 5x bonus points then *grins*

Too bad it ain't applicable this month *sob sob*
*
That's very good indeed. But seriously, Amex's standards has dropped drastically since they sold their business to MBB. Guess this is a good time for me to part company with them as well.

Annual fees can be waived, if you are a regular big spender. Confirmed with an old time friend of mine who have had her AF for the plat charge card waived for the past 6 years etc. However, her spendings are over millions per year tongue.gif

Anyone have idea if we obtain our ccris report from BNM,it will show our Amex charge card spending limit(normally no pre-set by the issuer) like showing our credit cards credit limit in the report?
*
NO, there will be no CL, even in CRIS if its a charge card.

Just that? Then why the requirement to get a Gold charge card higher than the credit card?
*
No CL means you are theorectically able to spend as much as you want, so much much higher risks, thus the more stringent requirements tongue.gif

anyone knows when they crediting the 10X MR?
From what I obeserved, AMEX do give extra points during mid year where there isn't many festivals around i.e. people spend less during this period. So comes next year, maybe you'll keep your card if they got 10x MR again.
*
Thought they say within 2 mths after promotion ends? Since it ended 31/7 guess should be in Oct, right?

I had just been credited with 10K points plus annual fee waiver for my Amex Gold Charge card after cancellation request. Not really keen on it but kasihan the poor staff on the other end, plus nothing to lose, so guess I am on for another year tongue.gif

yes, 5% cash back for Saturdays and Sundays. Cash back for principal card holder only and capped at RM50 monthly. Nothing hard to not believe as it is not like the cash back is unlimited.
*
And with a merchant rate of about 5%, they don't lose but will instead make more as not everyone will monitor their rebates until exactly RM50 whistling.gif
