MotoGP 2009 @ 23/10/09, Sepang F1 Circuit

Went to morning pitlane walk for public and managed to catch Rossi. Not really familiar with MotoGP series and I only know who is Rossi laugh.gif .

#1 This was how the Yamaha garage looks like when Rossi made his appearance shocking.gif .

hinika:

Flare spreads out from the lightsource and leaks onto the rest of the picture.

Ghosting is a 180 degree rotated image of the bright light.

Poor filters cause flare, good filters stop flare.

Poor filters have a lot of ghosting, good filters have little ghosting (but I haven't tried any filter that has no ghosting.) So if you get ghosting, you will have to remove the filter!
what are those good filters u mean, can list some brands and model ? brows.gif
Pro1D series wan thinner rite ? cause more flare or less ?

or like what achew said, start to shoot without filter from now, laugh.gif

Staying up whole night to do intensive testing on my A700 + 50mm Vs A700 + Tamron 1750mm Vs A700 + Sal1870....

stars:

TEST NO.1, Shooting Object around 40cm from the camera at 50mm, using F1.4, F2.8, F3.5

Result:
- Sony 50mm is sharpest at 0.5cm - 0.6cm behind focused target.
- Tamron at 50mm is sharpest at 1cm behind focused target

TEST NO.2, Shooting Object around 100cm from the camera at 50mm, using F1.4, F2.8, F3.5

Result:
- Sony 50mm is sharpest at +- 2cm behind focused target.
- Tamron at 50mm is sharpest at 5cmcm behind focused target

TEST NO.3, Testing Tamron at wide angle 24mm & 17mm at F2.8 & F3.2

Result:
- VERY inconsistent. At 24mm -17mm, backfocusing can be ranging around 1 cm to 2cm... usually d further the subject.. the further d backfocusing..

OTHER TEST: A700 + Kit lens... Very hard to determine... due to kit lens IQ & the F5.6 when zooming at 50-70mm.... but somehow it tells me that is omost the same with the Sony 50mm...

Conclusion: ... no conclusion... Looking at the result & analysis it at the most simple direct way... it could be.. My A700 has BF of 0.5 cm.... Tamron lens oso hv its own BF problem.. of 0.5cm ... therefore 0.5cm A700 + 0.5cm Tamron = 1cm of backfocusing at a distance of around 40cm from distance subject. the BF distance increase as subject further away... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

I am about to do operation on my A700 & Tune the focusing myself... not sure is that a death wish... could get worse... sad.gif

good morning alpha.... smile.gif

lightning69 - very nice series. whr is the place? miri?

the wonder - wow... the panning so sharp, i wish i could do tat. those bikes look like flying

clivengu - could it be something to do with diopter? i find out my ovf also not in focus yesterday, after adjusted looks better now. btw, how do u test n analyse? can share? i think my A300 combo with 1750 sometimes also not really focus at desire target.

i bought a mc protector 62mm @RM192 after discount during the last ss promo

jimlim007: STD dangerous wei! We're talking about the STF LOL.

No, the 55-200mm has a different look from the 70-210mm F4. I would not call the 55-200mm painterly; it's more harsh.

What do you mean the background of the STF is superb sharp? You mean, it is not hazy like soft focus lenses are? A Soft Focus lens does this:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Here's one from the Minolta 135mm F2.8/T4.5 Smooth Transition Focus lens. Notice what happened to the Sony 300mm F2.8G SSM in the background - normally, you would see the OOF shape more blockishly with any other lens.
*
Albnok: from your photo comparison, first photo55200 background is totall empty like not thing to render, is it that is light? not really to compare below photo backgroud since it is empty if the bokeh more like a square, we call harzy? tongue.gif btw, with new tech/feature from STF lens, now user start to fall love with painterly bokeh vs round dot dot bokeh?

for what i mean the phot at 100% view and background shaprness is refer to these photo. does this background sharpness photo also can do with other non-STF lens?

so, now user start fall love with painterly bokeh vs round dot dot bokeh?

Good Morning guys....i bot the tamron 17-50 F2.8 from YL yesterday..just wanna ask sumting...is it normal for the tamron for it to be harder to zoom, i mean in the sense of rotating the zoom barrel from 17mm to 50mm??? I find it its much harder/rougher from the kitlens....lol! Thanks guys...
