A700 is a rare gem, i doubt u could find any next year or rather from now onwards but possibly A7x0
any series above A2x0 is better in someway imo...

QUOTE(noprob @ Oct 11 2009, 12:07 AM) me @braynumb : sorry bro, actually im asking sp00ky if he see any 30F2.8 thr... tried out A550 at sonystyle, the hi iso really very good at 1600 n 3200. when comparing with A300, it's at least close to iso800. weight n grip bout the same. ovf is larger, sss indicator is very much easier to see in ovf which is good as i hv problem with my A300. manual live check will zoom closer to the subject but dun really know how to use it. screen is large n clear. comes with a very unique feature, face detection coupled with smile shutter will make self portrait easier without the need of self-timer but must smile lor |

QUOTE(AlphaBeta @ Oct 11 2009, 02:06 AM) But i really would like to shoot under heavy rains...i missed out few opportunities to shoot some events due to heavy rain! Im sure a700 onwards are able to shoot under rain..but im not going to risk it..coz they are no strong prove or ppl tried to shoot under heavy rain and claimed tht it has no problem. under heavy rain, how u goin to do it? even with ur body is water-proof, i wonder how r u goin to handle the front lens covered with water... Heavy rain isnt a problem..unless windy + heavy rain!..then u have to be careful. think about olympus. i bet ur love will change as time goes by... thanks albnok for the nice review. A550 is a very promising model but i wouldnt sure if i really need to upgrade from A300. although i hv the A300 for nearly a year, i found myslef oni started to learn bout it lately. actually im looking to get 30F2.8 macro but the price rm999 is a bit steep as initially thought the price would be around rm699.

QUOTE(ieR @ Oct 14 2009, 12:47 AM) yea, i thought so, thus why i end up topping up rm300 buying 2nd hand tamron17-50.... u get a 30mm F2.8 range inside, but no marco,... but i have a raynox, thus no problem. meaning tat a 1750+raynox can get a 30F2.8 equivalent of performance? wow, i didnt know bout it, tats great! do u hv a sample to share? |

achew, the sp90 is close to rm2k, no?
furthermore, 30mm is a wide angle which im fond with. if 1750+raynox can get wat 30F2.8 can do then it's worthwhile to think bout it. ur signature pic is awesome poadster, i dun hv a raynox...at the moment... n i roam in broad daylight This post has been edited by countdracula: Oct 14 2009, 01:47 AM |

1.3k vs 999, not much different but 999 is juz a rrp n it will be lower at street price. so raynox or 30F2.8 plus a VG would be my next collection n not discounting the temptation of A550 !!!

QUOTE(achew @ Oct 14 2009, 01:58 AM) if u trying to shoot bug..30mm might b a lil bit too wide..even u manage to go very very very very close to the bugs..it stil wont look as stunning as those 90mm 100mm 180mm blablabla..but for portrait..flower..etc..i guess its fine.. i hv think bout it of wat i wan to shoot. not really into bug though i hv seen some very nice bug shots here. will venture into flowers n some tiny things for attention. something is in my mind right now n will decide probably after the basic workshop next month. thanks everyone for guiding, good nite This post has been edited by countdracula: Oct 14 2009, 02:13 AM |

QUOTE(AlphaBeta @ Oct 15 2009, 12:51 AM) tks, it's from the humble kitlens DT 55200 pic quality is very sharp so far from all the pics i ve taken. very good lens, light n sharp. mikeshashimi, try to look for a used F42 for wireless capability. it's worthwhile. jimlim007, i juz tried out the settings for punchy colour shot. quite pleasing though.
