erlow guys...

recommend me a headphone:
have to be able to be well driven without the need of an amp.
1st priority = comfort
2nd priority = sound quality
sound signature preference = balanced but with punchy bass
music i listen to = rock, r&b, vocal
budget = RM400

recommend me another one: (earphone or headphone)
this is for exercising/jogging
1st priority = secure fit
2nd priority = good comfort level
budget = RM150

thanks!

Had tried akgmalaysia's personal K340 while he was in Penang, really good. Nice guy, ask him for a demo. Quite sure he will gladly oblige if it is within reason.

It shouldn't be THAT sharp - highs aren't that prominent on the PL50 IMHO, if by SHARP you mean sibilant/high-centric... Maybe it needs more burn in, or maybe it's just a source problem... hmm.gif

For the love of me SHARP isn't really a word I'd use to describe the PL50 sound at all... Maybe mellow and warm, but definitely not SHARP.

The Hippo Shrooms are in the SHARP catagory for me - without the E5, as the E5 mellows down the Shroom sound with its bass mode.

I like to use the hippo shroom + E5 bass mode to watch movies, I can hear the conversation very clearly and I don't need subtitles anymore smile.gif

I'm dam happy I bought the Kanen KM-31 just now, I really like the sound. The isolation is good enough too. The package includes a pouch too, just wow.

I like to listen to music while having sufficient bass, so I prefer this over Hippo Shroom driven on flat equalizer setting.

From the sine wave 20-20khz sweep, it seems it have 3 peaks, on upper midrange and treble.

Hi guys, im currently using a Shure SCL2 and want an upgrade.

-Budget around rm300-rm400
-Currently using Ipod
-Mostly music
-mp3 files and some m4a lossless
-all kinds of music prefer clarity.

Might be interested in Ultimate Ears, Shure (cables are quite sturdy) and Westone.
Any recommendations at that budget range?

Sometimes headphones are useless if our MP3s are not created properly whilst using a low end computer sad.gif

low end shures aren't that good. The nice ones are SE310 and SE 530. From your money mostly you can only get low end of those brands you listed.
Theres one guy selling Fischer Audio Eterna for rm250 brand new in garage sales, not sure if he sold it yet or not. But one thing for sure eterna is definitely is a very fun canalphone.
