QUOTE(peinsama @ Sep 30 2009, 12:42 PM) Yeah, ratings seems solid and if there are somehow available in Malaysia, i would like to give it a try. Thanks for the recommendation, but where can i look for SP1 and PL50? http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1167985&hl=SP1http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=976470&hl=SP1http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...0&hl=soundmagichttp://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...8&hl=soundmagic Added on September 30, 2009, 4:26 pmQUOTE(QuickFire @ Sep 30 2009, 10:43 AM) Hey guys I'm looking for a pair of in-ear earphones. I listen mostly to rock, indie and some pop, film scores, electronic, but I'm not a basshead, so I'm looking for something neutral with a good balance of everything. Budget is RM200 - 300. I've been recommended the following: 1. Crossroad Mylar Bijou 2. Hippo Boom 3. Soundmagic PL20 / PL50 / PL30 Are these suitable for me? And how does the Shure SE102 compare? I've nvr tried the IEMs you mentioned above, but I've 2 gd entry lvl that can match the Shure SE102 which is the MusicVAlley SP1 and JBL 220. The SP1 is kinda strong in bass(sometimes too much), the JBL wise is more balance(last time selling for RM50 New one, not sure how much is it now xD) This post has been edited by chingwooi: Sep 30 2009, 04:26 PM

QUOTE(Namor @ Oct 3 2009, 02:33 AM) Hey guys =) need your expert opinion as well Cheapo headphones [not earphones] (comfy + doesn't sound like crap) budget : below rm50 usage : movie mostly and listening to music (mp3) Hmmm, below RM50 it's kinda impossible to find a decent headphone actually... AVF brand may be? Added on October 3, 2009, 3:12 amQUOTE(zachyEnWaykins @ Oct 2 2009, 10:38 PM) evening to all, just wondering is there a earphone that like have a mic feature that allows you to choose whether to shut out the rest of the world or to turn on the mic and hear it again? it would be so cool.... That's basically noise-cancelling no? This post has been edited by chingwooi: Oct 3 2009, 03:12 AM

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 3 2009, 07:53 PM) As per above, comes with the Shure SE530 as a bundle if i'm not mistaken. People really don't read forums thoroughly, do they? Haha, Who the hell does? There're so many topics in LYN, it's kinda impossible to read through so many pages just to look for something, even the "search" button also rendered useless sometimes.

QUOTE(sclikzs @ Oct 11 2009, 01:58 PM) I'm looking for a headphone, not earphone, for my usage. New user here who never use a headphone before, only using edifier c2 Application: Listen to music (genre = techno ,dance ), and gaming. The headphone will be plugged into the on board audio of my laptop or my 5800. Budget: 200 - 300 Brand: Any brand should be fine, e.g. audio - technicia ,Sony, Sennheiser, Bose etc. Generally, I am a bass-head, and was considering for sony mdr-xb500 , but then i saw that inter-asia do sell audio-technicia.can give me some recomendation ? Yup, I think you should go for the Sony if you really are basshead. The bass is indeed very strong.

QUOTE(QuickFire @ Oct 13 2009, 05:45 PM) Ok I just bought myself an iPod classic. All I have at the moment are my stock ipod earphones, and I find them unsatisfactory (as expected). I'm looking to get a pair of PL50s, how do they compare with the stock ipods? I especially find the bass to be weak, and turning on bass booster simply results in distortion. Not sure if this is inherent in all iPods or the issue lies with the earphones. I know the PL50s dpnt have a lot of bass, but do they at least perform a lot better bass-wise than the stock earphones? If you feel that the bass is weak, an easier yet economic way to improve the bass performance is to get a pair of foam xD It will provide btr seal and in return stronger bass. P/S: iPod stock earphone is quite gd pair of earphone IMO after listening to it for a while when my IE8 masuk kilang

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 17 2009, 01:23 AM) Yeah, bass is low - I run mine with the Fiio E5 super-mini-tiny-amp to compensate for this (it has bass mode), but it really doesn't change much. As for the how to wear properly, blue tip one goes into left ear, red into right. Make sure the coloured tips are pointing UPWARDS and coil the wire around the back of your ear. Use the plastic earguides if you have problems with the last step (I'm using em)... Pictures of this: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « As for tips, its all about isolation. Yeah, IEMs are MEANT to stick into your ears and block out as much noise as it can - you might need to get used to this... Foam should be the easiest tip to get a seal with. Most audiophiles seem to like silicone (rubber) as they say it doesn't effect sound much (Foam adds bass and dulls treble it seems, I can't seem to feel a difference either way). Even myself, I can't get good isolation with any of the tips ON THEIR OWN - so I combined the 2nd largest silicone (rubber) and one of my own Shure Foam tips. Great fit ever since. Bro, you asked SonyErric to quote the price of FX500, any news from him?

My experience with Klipsch's IEMs are they aren't strong in bass, just enuf for ur ears, they've pretty gd in term of clarity, Klipsch is suitable for you if you're classical musics lover, not hip hop type of musics. However, I've nvr try the Klipsch S4 b4 but I guess the sound signature should resembles its brothers from another mothers xD Added on October 24, 2009, 5:40 pmQUOTE(amon_meiz @ Oct 24 2009, 03:53 PM) Just to add,i chat with one fellow forumer who happen to be an owner of phonak audeo pfe,he said its a great iem, just in bass department, its too shy and when amped with E5, the bass overloaded.so u just have to live with little bass or overpowered bass .owh,he also an owner of SP1, and he likes it,including in bass department.just to share There're 2 bass mode on the E5 rite, pushing it to the slightly lower bass side should do the trick I think(at least it works on the Klipsch xD ) This post has been edited by chingwooi: Oct 24 2009, 05:40 PM

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Nov 2 2009, 09:12 PM) what difference would in earbud or iem produce in terms of sound quality, or is it just a comfort issue? uh, which brands specifically do u mean when u say PL50 or SP1? what do u think about the shure se102 btw? is it among the best for its price range? are there other more affordable models with similar performance? i wouldn't mind paying a bit extra if it is as good as they claim it is, but it'd be good to keep within budget loh. earbuds are the one that's given by apple iPod. IEM is the one that you normally stuff the whole thing into ur ear, like the one that given by Sony walkman with rubbery type of eartips. PL50-Sound Magic SP1-MusicValley Shure SE102 wasn't really that bad but it's slightly overpriced ~RM250 but may be you can find one below RM200 if you know where to find xD The Se102 is more to bright and clear sound signature, pretty gd in mid bass but lack of low bass, so if you're basshead, then it's just not for u SP1 on the other hand, has dark and warm sound signature and bassy, nvr really audition the PL50 but heard it's pretty gd as well.

QUOTE(dr_farnz @ Nov 16 2009, 08:45 AM) Hello bro's. Need a suggestion or recommendation on Portable Headphone range RM800-1100. thanks. Honestly speaking, after I tried to use headphone when traveling from KL back to Kedah, I think it's btr that you get an IEM instead of headphone, headphone is really not so portable-friendly xD Added on November 16, 2009, 1:18 pmQUOTE(bpk16 @ Nov 16 2009, 10:18 AM) any sennheiser ones i can get?
