She will climb one floor up to where the masterroom is and pee on the floor at the entrance to the room, then climb up one floor again to poop at the mat in front of the washroom at the top floor....then will shout for me coz dunno how to climb down

Min. Schnauzers shed very little, so 'color change' doesn't work like that. What I've read is that as we groom them by clipping their coats (as most groomers do, unless specified), the color will tend to be lighter because we clip through the undercoat (Min. Schnauzers have a double coat - the undercoat is soft, while the upper coat is harsh and wiry), causing the color to lighten considerably because the upper coat is lost. The 'proper' way to groom a Min. Schnauzer is through hand stripping, but it's not easy to do, very tedious and very costly if it's done at the groomers. Only show dogs get hand stripped anyways, so since most of our dogs are pet dogs, the easiest way is just to clip. Let me show you Scottie's coat color change (I only noticed it now after so long...hahaha!):

Carrying to the bathroom should be fine for the first few days (so that she gets there in time) I think. Never a big harm to try...whatever that works for you to get her to understand that the bathroom is her place to go, try it If it doesn't work, try another method. There's no one sure way to train a dog.

wow..scottie changed alot! he look so cute wen he's a puppy...i miss daisy's puppy look too..i regret not taking much pic of her wen she was young

Yeah, I only noticed it recently when I was looking back at his old photos...haha! I miss his puppy look also, and how small he was... If only they would stay that way forever, right?

yalor...now they're getting bigger and fatter..especially after i spayed daisy..i cut down her portion but still getting fat..sigh

Actually how do I know if my puppy is obese ??? It looks ok to me but my neighbour (who owns 2 silky terriers) was shocked at the size of my 3 month old schnauzer.

FYI, Max was the biggest and most active in a litter of 3 puppies !!!

Sigh. I always tot tat Max is a pretty good n smart dog. From day one he didnt make much noise at night. He will make noise when i put him back into his cage n even then will stop after a while if i ignore him. He will make noise when he hears me n it is feedin time. Or when he wants to go out to poo n pee. Like tat neighbour also complain and said my dog make noise 24/7.Even said tat i dont know how to look after the dog n never pacify the dog when it is making noise. But wat i read works ie Max keep quiet after a while if i ignore him. Anyway Max will get his 3rd vaccination 2day and after 2 weeks should be able 2 go out n start his obedience classes. Still undecided where to go tho. Most convenient location is ikano but tat is more
expensive

Well, training takes a lot of patience, so just keep on telling him to bring the ball. Just because he learnt the first few commands quite fast doesn't mean he will catch on so fast for other commands, as we might have confused him or he hasn't understood what he has to do just yet.

What the vet said about the coat's texture is quite true. If we hand strip the coat, it will be more wiry and harsh compared to a clippered coat. That's one of the characteristics of the breed. But because most of us clipper our dog's coats, they won't have that harsh and wiry texture compared to a hand stripped coat. I kind of agree with the vet. Colors are genetic, and they're mostly there from birth till the end of their lives, so...I'm not so sure if it will change color. Perhaps other black & silver pups' owners can share about it more.

I haven't heard of the Seaweed Extract before, but since you have already bought it and you feel it can help with Sam's development, it's worth a try. There are a lot of variations in the coat color of the Min. Schnauzer. Even though it was mentioned that it's black and silver, the color shades might differ from one dog to the other. Same goes with salt and pepper colors (I have seen so many salt and pepper shades that are totally different from Scottie's markings), so it's not necessary that black and silver has to mean an all black and some 'silver' colored markings. But to what extent the markings would constitute black and silver or otherwise, that I do not know. I guess you'd have to refer to more experienced breeders or books.

Aragonlee, (jus knew that kenji owner from the list in front page)... kenji so cute  .. I always fancy of white schnauzer.. tot go for white color schnauzer before, but no fate after saw Sam( my black n silver Sch)..but maybe will go for white one in future accompany sam, haha..If real hav time and money  ... Hope next time gathering able let sam socialize wit kenji  

But anyway the owner of the petshop (i bought sam) said quite mafan to care white schnauzer, really?.. and some also told me white Sch more naught one... but i dont think so, cz each dog hav different personality.. but in another point of view, maybe true cz white Sch too cute ad then manja in puppyhood till end up adult stubborn...haha (jus own opinion ) 

Guess u are white expert ya, haha...Any carin to maintain whiten can share wit me..shampoo, supplement o food.. cz my Sam muzzle show yellowish ad.. and i saw kenji got very thick fur, from naturally puppy also like tat o any supplement helpin? can share

Thank ur details above again..ya.. i searched info regard hand stripping coat.. result in harsh and wiry compare smooth one... anyway i hav inquire a pet saloon that quite familliar n often visit.. the owner help me ask outsider breeder willing to hand stripping for sam.. but cost RM400 for whole body, need wait till 8month as he told me... but u hav any idea, "whether strip 1 time can result in harsh coat ?".." and " able result entire life harsh coat aldo clip for next time o future ?"...

But anyway jus curious , cz i dont think will go for hand strip cz sam only home pet plus RM 400 too costly... better i use buy lot treat and supplement for sam..haha

Good news share with u, ray.. Sam grow black fur out, phew  glad... then i took him for 1st time grooming since puppy to cut away all the brownish fur.. OMG!!!.. (not the groomer fault) but the puppycut look when applied on sam jus feel weird for me.. i totally missed the previous sam look (lot of fur more cute).. Now need to wait few month for the fur grow back  ..anyway u know any nice grooming saloon provide quality cut for example lot of cuttin style for schnauzer beside the normal puppy cut o the Zebra horse cut
